Journey to the Center of the Earth!!

I was just thinking and you know what I want on DVD?

Journey to the Center of the Earth, its one of my favorite films along with Around the World in 80 Days.

Does anyone know how long we have to wait for this classic to be on DVD?

Also, any remembers the Australian film The Quiet Earth? That was a cool sci-fi film that I wish would be on DVD.

P.S. There might have been another movie that I want on DVD, I know the Sinbad has been released, hmmm...

In a 20th Century chat about 6 months ago, they said it should see the light of day 2002/2003. So if I was a betting man I would expect 2003.
:p

journey... is a good movie but i hate it. as an iguana owner i really hated seeing reptiles forced to fight for the camera, and especially the scene at the end when they dump hot tar on a live reptile. stupid god damned motherfuckers.

It has a great Bernard Herrmann score too. One of my favorites.

...giving credit where credit is due... The Quiet Earth is a movie from New Zealand (...yes, Virginia! that's an entirely separate country, not a province of Australia!...)

...good movie, by the way - a DVD would be welcome!...

I'd get Fantasic Voyage, or even better, Quatermass and the Pit (aka 5 Million Years to Earth)

If your so concerned about the reptiles perhaps you should take the one you OWN and set it free!

Owning reptiles or any other lifeform is like owning slaves!

Perhaps you should have said 'as an iguana partner' or 'as a friend of an iguana' or 'as an iguana lover' (well that one might get you into more trouble) but you get the idea. ???

You need to wake up a little. In some ways you're right, but most domestic animals thrive from human companionship. Cats and Dogs for example. My Dog (who died from cancer last week) would follow me everywhere. She didn't have to, she had free run of the area. I let on the bed, on the sofa, in every room she wanted. But she followed me about. Is that a slave?

I don;t agree with caging any animals, zoo or otherwise, and I'm certanly against the meat trade after seeing some attrocitites in a former line of work.

yours is a very naive and dangerous opinion. setting a captive animal "free" as you put it in the city is the cruellest death warrent i can imagine. she'll either starve to death, freeze, get run over, or killed by a human or a dog.

i hand raised this iguana from when she was a hatchling, and have seen her through 10 years, one broken arm and 2 clutches of eggs. she has all the right lights, food and suppliments, and sits at a floor to ceiling window overlooking puget sound so she has something interesting to look at. she does not live in a cage, but has full run of the apartment. she walks all over me, and i wait on her hand and foot. perhaps it is SHE who owns ME? regardless, she is as much a part of the family as any human.

sadly it is the kind of muddled thinking your post shows that undermines animal rights in this country. your heart is in the right place but your mind needs to be too. peace.

Lets tone it down a little bit, everyone.

Remember, we are talking about the subject of the thread, not derailing to something WAY OFF TOPIC.

Yeah, I have the Fantastic Voyage DVD.
The price was low to mid 20's. You might think that was good considering 2 movies bundles, but, then I viewed Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and remembered how incredibly BAD that ripoff film was.
At least I have fantastic Voyage though.
