Why May is going to be spent indoors

I try to be careful with my DVD buying, and I always make sure that I don't buy things just for the sake of it. It is for thta reason that i'm not gonna get something like Ocean's 11 or Waking Life.

Still, I do have to buy the following:

From Hell
The Majestic
The Others
Sex and the City Season 3
Sidewalks Of New York
Vanilla Sky
and
Traffic

I guess sometimes it helps to have a decent job.

Perhaps June will be a little easier on me

I'll definitely be purchasing Traffic - Criterion but not sure about From Hell. What is your impression and opinion of the film?

As I posted in the "DVD in May" thread ( http://www.dvdfile.com/interactive/f...threadid=14722 ) awhile ago, my options for titles in May include:

- The Last Waltz - May 7
- Ocean's Eleven - May 7
- Waking Life - May 7
- Atlantic City - May 14
- David Blaine: Fearless - May 14
- From Hell - May 14
- The Others - May 14
- Duel - May 21
- Lantana - May 21
- Memento: SE - May 21
- Vanilla Sky - May 21
- Traffic: Criterion Collection - May 28

I can't afford all those, so I'll start with just: Ocean's 11, Waking Life, From Hell, Memento (if it's reallllllly better than the version I have), Vanilla Sky, and Traffic

May, along with April is going to put me into debt...

- Ocean's 11 (Widescreen)

- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Widescreen)

- Traffic - Criterion Collection

- From Hell

- Waking Life

- Vanilla Sky

- The Others

- Memento - Special Edition

- The Majestic

- Legend - Ultimate Edition

- The X-Files - The Complete Fifth Season

- Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Complete Second Season

But who cares about debt when you have DVD's.

Also, A Beautiful Mind and Gosford Park might be released in May, and those are rentals at least.

Don't forget other places to stay indoors and watch films-like the theaters, where some movie about some superhero and another movie about some space battles with clones or something will be playing.

Oh I wish I could forget the harry pothead but thankfully there are other great releases in May to feast on, like:

Vanilla Sky! (Wow, what a great movie, my fav scene is when Cruise is drinking himself stupid in the club, very powerful, true moment)

Ocean's Eleven (2001) (Pretty fun, well written, and the cast is awesome)

X-Files Season 5 (C'mon, you gotta get it if you have the first 4 right?)

Rambo Trilogy SE (Just sold the old set for $35 )

Traffic CC (Finally! A DVD that deserves the movie)

Gosford Park (Blind purchase, gotta have Altman's latest)

The Others and

Pearl Harbor Director's Cut just because I hope there is some cursing added back and I don't have the theatrical cut, been waiting for this one.

Don't care for From Hell, seeing once is enough.

I'm sure I'm missing more but I'll find out about them closer to the dates of release, I don't think 2 months in advance... what happened with April btw, did I miss a thread or is there nothing much coming out. Novocaine I think, great Steve Martin dramedy.

Looks like I'm going to have to negotiate a 2nd mortgage for May and i'll have no choice but to stay in 'cause i'll be skint!

However,I might just be able to force myself out of the house and away from my vast amount of new dvd's to catch that low budget film by some independant filmaker from San Francisco.I forget what it's called now :p

Don't forget MASH Season 2. I think I'm going to spread the DVDs out over the month, maybe pre-order a couple in April to absorb the shock... not going to grab them all at once though.
