Star Trek:TNG season 1 boxed set serial numbers
What serial number did you get on your season 1 boxed set?
Where did you buy it? My set is numbered 15,692. I purchased it at BestBuy. The CD rocks. Can't wait for the others. |

Ummm, I don't think that's a serial number you're looking at. Unless of course both of ours happen to be 15692....I don't know it could happen.

That's very interesting. I used to collect ST and figured that the number on the spine was a production number. You know, like 372 0f 1,000,000. but oh well. Thanks you setting the record straight. You wouldn't happen to know what that number is for?

It appears to be a registry number. Every VHS and DVD release has a particular registry number assigned to it by the distributor in order for them to keep an account of which video release was assigned to it. Even the videos in a limited edition release, when it has a particular edition number of like 3400 of 40,000, for example, will have that registry number on the side. So this is just a common practice.
