Total Recall and Duel
First off, when is that Steven Spielberg Duel DVD suppose to be coming out?? Anyone know the specs to it?
Also, has anyone here bought that Total Recall Special Edition yet?? I have a friend who has it and says the DVD is awesome but the packaging sucks, and he also told me that soon the same DVD will be available but with a keep case. Is this true?? I like this film alot, so what do you all think would be the wisest choice in buying it: keep case or special case? |

The Special Limited Edition, in the round Mars-shaped tin with the little cardboard holder to keep it from rolling away, does indeed have sucky packaging. The keep-case Special Edition, which has been available for months, has exactly the same content as the Limited Edition, including inserts, and looks much better next to my other titles.

I belive the that Duels been delayed untill June or July.
As for Total Recall it's up to you. I don't know about your area, but here in Phoenix the tin is pretty much rare, and the keep caseed version is now dominate. I own the Tined version and I'am very happy with it. I like new differant packaging and am not botthered by its cumbersom apperance. Now if your an "Anal" collector, and you like all your DVD's to be displayed the exact same way buy the keep case version. |

I have the tin and I only bought it that way because I was confused that the SE was a limited edition (like From Hell recently). I would prefer the keepcase, so I would be happy to trade with anybody who prefers the tin and wants to switch.
I am in the same boat with Basic Instinct and Book of the Dead. |

If that is the case (no pun intended
), I will get the keep case one. As for Duel, according to DVDPlanet.com and Cinescape magazine, that dvd is due this coming Tuesday, the 21st! I just wanted to know if this is solid, and I am guessing it is since Cinescape's latest magazine had it in the top ten DVD's to get this summer. If you do research and find the same please let me know! |

Maybe I'm thinking of some other title, but I could of swore I read that its has been postponed from it's original 5/21/02 relese. It was on the dvdfile home page a few weeks back. It was just a three line artical if I remeber right. Hopefully I'm wrong

I agree with J Greer. If you keep the tin in the holder, then you have a nice spine and it doesn't look to odd. I have about 160 dvds and Basic Instinct nor Total Recall stand out and look fine.
I tend to like when studios put a little effort into their products to try and satisfy us customers.
