"Speed" Two Disc Five-Star Collection Thoughts?
I think that the Speed Five-Star Collection Two Disc DVD sound like it will be good hear is the list of the special features to be included on this two disc set
DISC ONE Audio commentary by Jan De Bont Audio commentary by Graham Yost and Mark Gordon Audio commentary chapter selection New anamorphic transfer THX Certified English 5.1 DTS Dolby Original Sound DISC TWO Extended Scenes: "Jack shoots Payne in the neck" "Payne lives/Cops party" "Annie’s job" "After Helen’s death" "Ray’s Crime" Multi-Angle Stunt Comparisons: "Bus Jump" (9 angles) "Cargo Jet Explosion" (9 angles) "Jack vs. Payne" (4 angles) "Metro Rail Crash" (9 angles) Five Featurettes: "On Location" "Stunts" "Visual Effects" "Bus Jump" "Metro Rail Crash" Storyboard to Film Comparisons: "Bomb on Bus" "Baker Sequence" "Bus Jump" "Metro Rail Fight & Crash" Interviews With: Keanu Reeves Sandra Bullock Dennis Hopper Jeff Daniels Jan De Bont HBO Special Phots Gallerys (400+ Pixs): "Production Desgin" "Behind-The-Scenes" "Theatical Press-Kits" Original Theatrical Trailer 11 Television Spots Billy Idol Music Video Production notes Easter Eggs Original Screenplay (DVD-Rom) And also is Speed 2:Cruise Control a Five-Star Two Disc? Becuase it sucks ass and dose not desevier it. I saw these special features listed: Never Before Seen Making-Of Featturete Theatrical Trailer. I don't think that is Five-Star style. And if it's a box set I will buy it just to own both of the movies. Hear is what the Speed cover is like and I think it sucks major balls.

The thing that doesn't really make sense about the cover is it shows the bus like it's soaring through a big giant wall of fire, yet this never happened in the movie. Oh sure, it blew the hell up at the end but it didn't do it at the end of the jump.

Other covers
damian: LOL, i never thought of that
kenshiro: how do you attach your pictures? i was just expecting the original poster to be on the cover (the picture was an image i saved AGES ago), and at first i thought the new one looked kinda crap. now i reckon it looks cool, but i still prefer the original. Something else that bugs me about the new one is the stupid font they used for the title. They shoulda kept the original.
i found an image of an r2 Speed in FightClub-style packaging: Last edited by Moppy007 : 05-20-2002 at 12:17 PM. |

I don't mind the Five Star Collection Covers. I put the insert that came inside of 'The Sound of Music' over the silver cover. I just prefer that over the silver. I have to check the other Five Star Collection and see if they have insert. I am slow. I just recently discovered this with Donnie Darko . The insert in that disc has a better cover art. I think that may be the original poster for the film.
I remember the other members mentioning inserts. I think that is a great idea and the if the studios are going to issue a different cover than the original poster for the film, they should offer the option as an insert. Oh, BTW, I am looking forward to getting the Speed DVD. Haven't seen this film since we watched it at the cinema. IT ROCKS!

Keanu looks like he's watching some weird sex-people or something in the 5-star cover release. "What ARE they doing?" he's thinking.
At least in the theatrcial/original artwork, he looks tough and unfazed that a fire-ball or bus is hurtling toweards him. I personally didn't have a problem with the exploding flying bus - it encapsulates the feel of the movie well.

I hate it when the "mirror" images. They mirror the bus. Also, why not just keep the original poster? Evertime i look at it, i know it's Speed. When I look at the new cover, i got no idea. And I prefer the ORIGINAL font.
The thing is, it's not that the new one is uglier, it's just that, KEEP THE ORIGINAL!!

I held off on the old release since I bought my player for a special edition, so now this is my biggest title of the summer. Can't wait!

Package it in a cereal box for all I care...just as long as the sound rocks and the video is sweet! I can't wait to hear it in DTS!
