I cannot vote myself either :
Se7en is an undisputed classic. Fight Club a cult classic Alien3 (as above) I think is VERY underated (never has such a film succeeded in portraying such a feeling of despair and desperation as much as this) Unfortunately I ahve yet to see Panic Room, and have not seen The Game as I'm holding out on a (potential / rumoured) Criterion release!

I liked Fight Club and Se7en, but The Game was an excellent film. Michael Douglas did an excellent performance. I didn't like Alien 3 and still haven't seen Panic Room, so I can't comment on that.

Well i have seen all but The Game. But out of them all i decided to go (now that i look at it) the underdog Panic Room. I love the directing in it between the Bad Guys and Mrs. Foster well directed and kept it nice and tense. Editing was almost Flawless from scene to scene.
Fight Club was 2nd followed by Se7en.

Alien 3 may be underrated but it isnt the best in the serious and if were really technically its title isnt even right, so i cant give it my vote, the game is a great movie, i have to vote for it, i think this movie is underrated, fight club and se7en are both great, have to give the casts of both of these movies credit for what they are, and last, i havent seen panic room

"Fight Club" all the way. It's my favorite movie of all time. "Se7en" would come in second. "Panic Room" would come in thrid that is because I've not seen "The Game". "Alien 3" would most likey come in last if I had seen it, but I have not. I also would like to see what he is going to do with "Mission:Impposible 3" ("M:i-3").
That will be great. Fincher is just an amazing director!!!

Se7en has occupied the #1 slot of my all time favorite film list for some 6 years now.Fight Club is also in my top 10 but for me it didn't quite have the same impact as Se7en.Both are truly great movies though.

1. The Game: The best mindfuck movie ever, a terrific script and incredible production elements and a mindblowing ending that keeps going even as you think the script has teetered off into unoriginality. The last six minutes sell the whole thing.
SPOILER: It's a suicide intervention 2.Fight Club: Smart and extremely funny, it will probably date the most out all of Fincher's films considering the topic at hand. Terrific production design and script. 3.Se7en: A pretty standard script entirely elevated by one of the best production teams ever. The image and sound are astonishing, turning what could have a clichefest, into a movie with some very powerful moments. It played much better on a second viewing after I had begun to ignore the banality of the story and could concentrate on the other, overpowering elements. 4.Alien 3: Much better in the director's cut, it still has awful special effects because CGI was new at the time. Despite the additional 15 minutes or so, the second hour is still kind of weak, due mostly to Walter Hill's typically poor script additions. The first hour is masterful though. 3450. Panic Room: A thriller that packed no wallop, poorly written, extremely thin characters. It was as if screenwriter David Koepp bet himself that he couldn't write a movie that took place almost entirely in one house. He won, but we lost because he didn't develop the idea at all. Probably the sparest/no frills big budget movie ever made, and while that could be considered a compliment, in this case it is entirely to its detriment. Amazing credit sequence though. |

fincher favorites
great question..... i've always loved aliens 3. i think all films in the series are completely different takes on sci fi stories....finchers 3rd installment being the darkest. isn't the story somehow about the hiv virus? thats what i have been told. fight club is without a doubt david finchers triumph. to get a movie with anti corporate subject matter made in the hollywood system is amazing to me. although the game isn't as heady as fight club in its subject matter, its terribly fun and i'd have to say probly my 3rd favorite of his films. i wasn't real impressed with seven. it seems much like many other thrillers of its day. panic room is a terrible movie. i went to see it based on roger eberts review calling it "an intricate game |
