Predator Special Edition?
With the recent release 2 disc special edition of Predator on R2 and R4 DVD does anyone out there know if Fox are planning to release this 2 disc version on R1 (as a Five Star Edition)?
I read (in a UK DVD mag) that a Predator boxset was coming out soon but I think this may have been wishfull thinking. Does anyone else get excited by the thought of a boxset with Predator: Five Star Edition & Predator 2 in it? (Like the French Connection Boxset). Anyhow, any news on this would be nice. |

i remember reading in an interview with Peter Staddon of Fox that the region 1 Predator wouldn't be a five-star collection title, but would still be a special edition. And i get the feeling it's to be released in 2003.
i was in a shop before and was almost gonna buy the region 4 Predator and Speed SEs! Both double disc sets, DTS sound! But then i thought i'd look for a better bargain elsewhere... PS - if only i had american dollars, they were $35 AUS. That's about $18-$20 US isn't it? Last edited by Moppy007 : 06-09-2002 at 12:19 PM. |

That's a shame.
The R2/R4 Speed is being released as a Five Star Edition on R1 so it's surprising that they wouldn't do the same for Predator. Oh well, I'll have to get the R4 version then (it works out at about £13 (UK) with shipping compared to the R2 which costs about £18-20 (UK). |

I picked up the Region 2 edition of Predator from Play in the UK for a reasonable £14.99.The picture quality and DTS sound are no different from those featured on the current Region 1 version. The extras are pretty cool but i'm not sure there's enough to warrant a prestigious 5 star edition for the R1 re-release.
The 30 minute documentary is pretty cool though and seeing Arnold and Jesse Ventura argue about who has the biggest arms is worthy of the retail price alone. There's also a very funny anecdote from Stan Winston about some bullfrogs and a trick he played on Arnold.Priceless! ![]()
