Bad movies, great sound

Have you ever rented/purchased a movie that you thought sucked, just because you knew it would sound really bitchin on your HT system?

Con Air is that kind of movie for me.

I think a lot of early adopters of DVD are probably guilty of that. I managed to only rent Lost in Space & Godzilla, but for a while, those were two of the biggest sellers.

Every now and again, I'm still tempted to pick up Pearl Harbor for the very reason that the attack sequence would be amazing.
But then I remember how much I detested the rest of the movie and I snap to my senses. Once I even tried to justify it with that 2-for-1 pack - telling myself that "I'm buying the other movie - Pearl Harbor just comes with it" - but that didn't even work.
Oh, how I wish Jerry Bruckheimer would release that half hour as a demo disk on it's own ... just imagine - the ultimate "superbit" - a whole DVD devoted to the most extreme bitrates possible for half an hour of sonic fireworks...
Or better yet - get the folks at Superbit and the peeps at Flixmix together = a whole disk of demo material...
...but I digress... :p

Well i just bought DRIVEN becaus eof the sound and well it was $10. I turned the volume up when my mom was gone and man my bed was vibrating fromt he base.

I shall buy Pearl Harbor:Vista Series because of mainly the Special Features and the sound. I didn't like the movie but the sound was great.

These are the only ones i have/will purchase so far for the sound only. I thought i had more.

The best one out there is the DTS version of The Haunting. If this doesn't show off your system, you have a crap system. Movie that had great hype surrounding it, started off well and then ended with the funniest dialog since Airplane!

G

But it sounds great tho

Fast and the Furious - great sound. I know a lot of people liked this flick - so I will say no more.

Dungeons & Dragons. One of the worst movies ever made, but it had pretty good sound on my home theater. Gawd that movie sucked....and I'm a fan of fantasy movies, so it's tough to turn me off, but it did.

I'll agree with UFO & state that the end sequence in Dungeons & Dragons rocks my casa despite the movie being...well, what it is!

another one I didn't think too highly of, but thought the sound was outstanding was Fast & The Furious (sorry Diesel fans, I thought the movie was DUMB!)

Lastly, Pearl Harbor's battle sequence kicks a$$.

I know U guys mentioned most of these B4, so I'm just agreeing with ya'll!

I bought The Fast and the Furrious, strictly on the dts soundtrack alone ( hated the movie ) I think that is the only one I bought that I didn't like for sound. All my others that I bought, I liked...including Godzilla, Pearl Harbor, ( Lost in Space I got for free ) D&D, The Haunting...
