WinDVD 4 and DVD-ROM
My setup: WindowsXP AMD 1800 XP 512 MB RAM GeForce 440 AGP 64MB 1. I can't get the DVD-ROM portions of my discs to work with WinDVD or PowerDVD. It keeps telling me that I have to have a DVD drive and running win95 or better. The only way I can get to the DVD rom content is through the interactual player I have set the software to recognize the DVD drive instead of auto checking Any ideas? 2. I don't have a dedicated DVD card (Hollywood, etc) yet the software allows me to set the hardware acceleration in the options... is this normal? I suspect that my GeForce makes up for that but I don't see a difference in the quality when I have it checked or not. What would you recommend as video settings in WinDVD with this setup...not sure if I am getting the best quality possible. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks |

For #2, the Hardware Acceleration uses your Graphics Card to process some of the Video, taking the strain off your CPU. Your CPU is definitely powerful enough, so doesn't need it. As for quality, I'm not sure.
