There is no set release date for the SE, nor is there any specifics on the content of the SE. I believe the only extra that has been alluded to is a commentary by Ridley Scott.

If you havn't seen it its probably best to rent the current one and then buy the SE if/when it ever comes out. Im going to the mall later today and havn't figured what im going to do about this movie yet... I loved the movie and read the book, since its only $15 so I will probably get it and then sell it to a friend or a used DVD shop when the SE comes out.

I should have known better, that there would be a SE in the works. Looks like I'll have to return the copy I bought today. I almost did the same with "Monster's Ball", then I remembered it was the edited, bare bones disc that's out now. At least I don't have to worry about a Buffy Season 2 SE box set.

I'm waiting for the SE. I'm sick of buying titles twice.

I've never seen it, so I'm going to give it a rental first. If I like it enough I'll pick up the SE.

It's a great movie, but I'm forcing myself to wait. I picked up Buffy Season II and I am gonna pick up Monster's Ball this weekend.

I'm waitting 'til the special edition comes out supposibly September. Rumours are deleted/alternate scenes, making of, audio commentary, documentary of the real event from the soldiers themselves and more. I shall probably rent this and then buy the SE when it is released.

I went ahead and bought my copy today as well.....

I had absolutely NO idea....

Black Hawk Down is simply a MASTERPIECE!!!! Unbelievable..... truly unbelievable....

I applauded at the end of the movie... This was my first time seeing the movie and I am COMPLETELY floored!!!!!

Not only am I GLAD I bought it NOW, I WILL buy the SE if/when it comes out... I feel as it I owe it to them.

Peace.....

Finally, tomdkat and I agree on something.

I'm sorely, sorely tempted to buy the current release. It's actually a strong physical effort to FORCE myself to wait for the SE. But I'm weak, and I may cave in.

I couldn't wait either and bought it. BHD was one of my favorite movies last year, and Ridley Scott's best work bar none.
