Not sure on True Romance, but Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Reservoir Dogs are all coming out on August 27th.

Ture Romance on 8/20 also. I can't wait for all five of his movies on DVD. Also, did he co-direct Four Rooms? I think so, any news on a SE for that?

As I understand it, Tarantino did direct one of the segments on Four Rooms along with Robert Rodriguez and Roger Avery (I forget the other guy). I would love a special edition.

Actually, the four directors of Four Rooms were Tarantino, Rodriguez, Allison Anders ("Grace of My Heart") and Alexander Rockwell ("In the Soup")

I can't imagine there being much demand for a Special Edition of this particular film since it was pretty much regarded by all as a disaster. The Anders segment is ridiculous (the only fun in watching it comes from seeing who had "no nudity" clauses in their contracts. The Rockwell segment is even worse. The Rodriguez segment, however, is great -fast-paced, funny as hell and combines grossout humor with a facility in working with kids that makes it a precursor to Spy Kids) The Tarantino is pretty awful -the plot is a blatant ripoff of an old Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode and those who cringe at the idea of Tarantino acting will be horrified to discover the opening of the segment is him speaking non-stop into the camera for about five minutes! there is one great example of editing (if you've seen it, you know what I am talking about) but otherwise, the only smart person involved was Bruce Willis (who appears but wisely took no billing)

I didn't think it was that bad. Sure it wasn't the best stuff ever but I didn't take it seriously. And I always love a special edition of anything. I'm a sucker for special editions.

Donkey, where did you hear 8/20 for True Romance? I have seen no official date announced nor have I seen any specs. If you have info on the specs of this 2 edition set and an official release date link, please post it. Thanks!

I read on amazon.com that Pulp Fiction Collector's Edition comes in a snap case, instead of a keep case. Is that right?

I hate snap cases....

For the record, I would love an SE of Four Rooms. Tim Roth is hysterical throughout. I think that while the first segment is a bit weak, the second is quite funny, the third (Rodregez) is one of the funniest things I've ever seen, and the fourth (Tarantino) is pretty damn good.

The thing about the fourth one is that it is not a blatent rip off of an Alfred Hitchcock Presents, they are re-enacting an episode of the show, and talk about it. It's sort of a rif on it. If they were blatently ripping it off they would hardly discuss it. Anyway, Tarantino basically plays himself, a hyperactive, nerdish, somewhat irritating film director, and it's hysterical. Grating, yes, but that's part of why its funny.

Either you read wrong, or they posted their info wrong. It is not in a snap case....... or a keep case for that matter .

It is a 2-disc set (just like all the upcoming Tarantino related releases), and thus will not come in a snap case (especially considering that Buena Vista/ Miramax has never used such cases before).

FYI, here's the package the DVD will come in (think like the "Unbreakable" DVD):

Check out the look of the entire casing and the contents of the DVD here:

that's what I thought, but Amazon.com usually is pretty accurate.

Good thing because I hate those darn snap cases.

I picked up the Four Rooms disc since I must have all things Tarentino. Needless to say, I'm quite excited about the SE releases of his films that will be arriving next month.
