News Radio and Conan O'Brien
anybody know if there are any plans on taking either of these 2 shows to DVD?
|
I've been hoping for News Radio on dvd, but I haven't heard anything.
Some "best of" Conans would be cool, particularly if they included the recent bit of Triumph the dog making fun of my fellow Star Wars geeks. That was hilarious! |
I would love to have the first four seasons of Newsradio on DVD (after Phil Hartman died, the show shriveled on the vine).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DAVE: I've always wanted to make love on the space shuttle. LISA: That's not so strange. It's actually sort of sweet. DAVE: With a Space Prostitute. :lol: :lol: :lol: |
Count me in for a 'Best Of' Conan disc. His show is still one of the funniest on TV, and that SW thing was hilarious. Everytime he brings Abe Vigoda on I completely lose it. :lol:
|
"what the hell are you? You look like some sort of super nerd"
"well i-" "It's as if you were made in some sort of laboratory using parts of lesser nerds" "I don't deal with lesser beings" "you don't deal with lesser beings?" "no" "then you must be pretty lonely" ---- "what exactly do these buttons do for you?" "this helps me breathe" "It helps you breathe eh? Which one do you press to call your parents to come pick you up?" ---- "so, uhh i see here we have a woman who is pregnant, so, this will be a future nerd eh?" "yea, thats right, future nerd. Future Jedi!" "ah okay, When is he due?" "6 weeks, June 26th!" "it's shame that it will be his first and last day ever seeing female genetalia" ---- :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Man, i LOVE that episode, as a matter of fact, it's downloading on my computer at the moment. |
Man, there has been so much Conan, a series of best ofs would be so easy to put together. You could have 1 full DVD from every quarter year of the shows 9 years.
There are so many lost years of Conan that I would love to go over again. Including some bits about the Robot on a Toilet. |
Yeah the robot on the toilet was priceless... as was the Gaseous Weiner. Hahaha.
|
I can't begin to describe how much the subject line on this post got my hopes up...
I would love to see both, though. I've just been watching Conan for the past year or so, but I've seen enough great material to fill several DVDs. |
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE NewsRadio box sets. A great show - consistently funny and extraordinarily well-written. And hey, Columbia/TriStar has been releasing some TV shows on the DVD format, like All in the Family, and others. There's some hope for NewsRadio coming to DVD.
It sucks the big one that A&E rarely airs the reruns anymore. Cause the world REALLY needs re-runs of The View. :rolleyes: |
Anyone know any E-mail Addresses I can write to about this subject?
|
You should be happy to know that A&E has placed News Radio in a 8am -9am time slot and repeats in the afternoon at 2 pm. So if you miss the 2 episodes in the mrning you can see them again in the afternoon.
|
so, any update on these yet?
|
I think next year is Conan's 10th year on television, so I imagine there will be some sort of TV special (as there was for the 5th anniversary). That would be a nice opportunity for some sort of DVD release.
Season by season best ofs are probably out of the question, sadly. |
10 years already?!
If we're talking a "best of" Conan disc in terms of sketches and bits, and maybe musical performances I would definitely pick it up. I don't think I would be interested in the celebrity interviews.
I'm so glad Comedy Central is playing Conan at 7pm the next day, for all those nights when I don't feel like being a groggy jerk at work in the morning. I still miss Andy :( |
According to the official Triumph The Insult Comic Dog message board, a Triumph DVD is supposedly in the works. :cool:
Some of my favorite Triumph lines: To get an idea of the Bon Jovi sound, imagine Bruce Springsteen coming out of my ass. (To Andy Richter): Come on Andy! Your career's colder than an Ididorod huskie's nutsack! It's premiere night here for Attack of the Clones but outside the Zigfeld Theater is the real show: Return of the Dorks. |
