What are the best "summer" flicks?

now that most of North America is baking in the middle of this Gawd aweful season, what are some great movie based on summer activities?
they don't have to have the word summer in the titles but it does help

1. Summer School- a DVD would thrill me, Courtney Thorne-Smith is hot

2. One Crazy Summer- DVD please!!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Weekend at Bernie's

I'm sure I missed some other great ones but those are the only ones that came to mind

I always watch Summer Rental, The Great Outdoors, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off a few times during the summer. Weekend at Bernie's 1 and 2 as well.

Ferris Bueller, One Crazy Summer & Summer School came out in midst of my high school years and I've got rather fond memories of those films

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre bit in Summer School was quite funny because me and a few friends were big into horror films and we first rented TCM sometime during that time period. Aliens, Freddie Kruger, and the zombie films....

Certainly Jaws comes to mind....Meatballs.....

Weekend At Bernies...I remember that opening up against a Friday The 13th film...(I never had a interest in Jason and his carnage..and I convinced my two friends to go see Bernie instead of Jason) We all had a grand time and they agreed on my choice

Do The Right Thing.

You didn't say it had to be a happy movie.

As I too melt away in 30+C temperatures, a good tonic for heat relief is the one-two punch of Jaws and its decent sequel Jaws 2. Watching all that blue-green sea water has a strange cooling effect, despite two man-eating sharks terrorizing Amity.

Another choice would be Do The Right Thing, a film that shows us how not to act in a heatwave.

Requiem for a Dream--tired of sweating to death? Maybe you should try heroin--the weather will be the least of your worries.

I think American Pie 2 will be there for the next generation.

For me,

National Lampoon's Vacation

I agree with the people who mentioned Do The Right Thing...

Summer is also good for end-of-the-year, coming-of-age type movies like Ghost World and Say Anything...
