Jason X in DTS...2 Platinum Fridays from New Line!

I know this news is a couple of days old, but the press release over at www.horrordvds.com got me excited.

I haven't even seen Jason X but I enjoy all the 13th movies as total guilty pleasures. Some are much better than others, but the series as a whole is just really fun, IMO.

New Line is being super cool in releasing these as PE's. Why couldn't Paramount be as cool. Well, at least Paramount released them all. By end of October all of the series will be on DVD. Reason for fans like me to celebrate and salivate.

New Line has become my favorite DVD company. No matter what flick it is, they always put out a decent disc. I'm happy to hear the two Jason discs will both be Platinum Series. I don't own the Paramount releases (they're $25 a piece and barebones, but I'm looking into buying them if I can find them cheap enough), so this is the start of the Jason movies in my collection.

Yeah, but it's still not clear whether NL will release the unrated or the R-rated version of Jason X. Uncut is the way to go.

I want to see the R-rated version and Uncut Version. I hope the DVD is good. I've not seen this movie yet by the way.

Hopefully Jason X will have both versions. I first saw it a month before release when I downloaded it off the internet. The theatrical version was shorter and omitted some cool scenes including a sort of poking-fun at itself scene with a virtual flashback to older Jason flicks.

Maybe they'll turn up in the deleted scenes.

Jason X will be the R rated verison since only about 5 seconds or less was cut & is hardly noticable.

Jason Goes To Hell will include both the R & Unrated versions. Unrated is the only way to go with this film as all the gore & sex scene is hacked down extensivly in the R version.

Paramount should sell the first 8(or however many they own) to New Line maybe then they'd get good releases, I might pick up these 2 from NL even though I'm not much of a horror fan, except for Poltergeist which is a classic
