I don't understand DVDFile's review system...

"Tarzan & Jane" receives positive comments on audio and video but only get 2 and 1.5 scores out of 5? It doesn't make any sense. Aren't the scores supposed to be representative of the audio/video quality?

What would the audio and video have to be like to garner scores of 5? It's almost as if since it's a direct-to-video title, the audio and video are ranked extremely low. I seriously doubt it looks/sounds bad, so there are other factors that must be going into these ratings.

My guess is it's a typo.. or an image-o. They probably just did the rating icon incorrectly.

Its not just one DVD site. There are a lot of bad reviews on the net. The most reliable is The Big Picture but you have to subscribe to this service. I think the problem is a lot of the reviewers watch the discs on a 4:3 tv which of course is missing the point of DVD. Also i get the impression some reviewers don't watch the entire film before expressing their opinion. For example the Hannibal disc has some artefacting right at the end (the scene when hannibal is standing in the dining room and clarice cuffs him to herself. Most of the reviews missed this and stated that there were no noticeable artifacts in the presentation. WRONG! Hannibal looks great but that little problem stops it being top class.

The complete lack of any noticeable compression artifacts is icing on the cake, and this makes for a great presentation all around.
As I said before, it was probably just used the wrong icon. It is not a "bad review" but an unreliable rating image.

yep they probably just didn't do the right rating bar, either that or they don't want anyone to buy that DVD so that rated it bad
