Another sad fighting P&S experience.
I invited a cousin to my house today.
And my dad came with him. My dad is too a LOTR fan, i showed him some P&S vs Widescreen images of LOTR. And he joked saying "I prefer the one without the bars". And i was "What the f-" and he laughed and said "Just kidding". Then he went away, and my cousin came in, "Hey i prefer the one without the bars, i can see a little bit more here of the mountain". I have a zoom in option in my computer, and i told him, "Hey its not true" , and he said "Yes, it is". Then i showed him various widescreen vs. full screen screenshots. And he told me "Well, with the bars it looks like a rectangle, and it looks all shitty" (weird, how every experience involving widescreen vs. pan & scan involves the "s" word) And he went away and i said to him "Hey, then how come you like Attack of the Clones if you dont even like to see it all, you dumb fuck!" then he said "Well, i have seen films without those shitty black bars, and i still like the film, asshole!". I just wanted to punch him. And yet he wouldnt listen!!!!!!. :rar: This really pissed me off, i wanted to kick him out of the house.

You shouldn't get all pissed off, man. Sure, we all prefer widescreen for our movies, but others, (specifically younger people,) like the pan and scan better simply because the screen is bigger. Well, let them. If they want pan and scan, let them burn in hell. At least we dont watch ruined movies...
...Have u seen Episode 1, the phantom menace on Pan&Scan?? I've never seen such an EYESORE!!!! :barf:

Jesus, Oscar. Try not to get too worked up about. Sure you and I know that widescreen is the way to go. But differing opinions on the matter is hardly worth cussing at your family about it.
There are bigger problems in the world. If they don't like letterboxed movies even after you tell them why you do, just let them believe what they want and know that they're the ones missing out. Don't have a f*cking heart attack over the matter. |

Basically, i am always angry at the guy.
He is extremely close minded, he wont listen to any criticizism of him or the things he likes. And basically after that, it told him "Oh well, you can watch the movie you way you want, except that you prefer the screwed version" ![]()

And the dumb f--- was something i owed him, from 10 years ago.
When he threw a bottle of beer to my back at a party. He just laughed and didnt say "Im sorry" or something like that. Maybe they should close this thread, its revealing way too much personal aspects about my family. Also i dont mean to stereotype, i am from northen Mexico, and my cousinīs (and my momīs) family are from southern Mexico, and right there, they fill many sentences with any kind of cuss word. Dont mean to stereotype, ok?
