It would be nice if they could speed up the release of the Simpsons somewhat since it has 14 seasons so far. I would be happy at every 3 instead of 6 months, as long as quality and quality assurance would not suffer from the accelerated release. That way we would have hopes for it all to come on one format instead of half on DVD and half on HD-DVD.

Slightly off topic, but I don't plan on rebuying a lot of my DVD's on HD-DVD. Sure, I'll repurchase my favorites, but definitely not entire TV series I'll have on DVD like Star Trek, X-Files, Buffy, etc.

"The Simpsons", at the very least, needs a tri-annual release. Would the interest still be there by the time we get around to the 14th season? Sure, I want a decent transfer like everyone else, but I don't want to wait until 2008 to pick up season 14 (given their current R1 release schedule).

I remember hearing that Season 2 would come out before Christmas of last year...I'll believe it when we have a press release and pre-orders and even then I'll be leary of possible delays.

Well, I do hope they speed up the releases of these box sets, I don't want to wait 5 years for episodes that will be 10 years old by then.

I too disbelieve this because Fox said 2 a year, one every six months...it took almost a year for Season 2 to follow Season 1. So at thus rate it'll be 2014 before we get the current season on DVD. Not 2008.

And by then we won't be watching DVDs. We'll be watching movies that we tuck in under out eyelids.

Although if it does take that long, the wait will still be worth it.

they really are taking their sweet time with The Simpsons...

I mean, I'm sure a lot of work goes into each DVD, but really, 6-12months seems like plenty of time to ship out a DVD with already made shows on it.....
