this is a good week for dvds, a bad one for my wallet.

i just got home with "jurassic park" dts and elite's "the evil dead" (the good, oop, oar 5.1 disc ). i just opened the jp dts and the code is pemc 22, which is supposed to be the latest, dts corrected version! now i have the cav thx jp laserdisc box set, the open matte dd jp dvd, and now the anamorphic dts jp! tomorrow is "return of the living dead" and "the fog"... can't wait.

now if you'll excuse me i have some movies to watch.

Actually, I am looking for the Elite release also, but my Best Buy hasn't marked it down from 27.99! The msrp is 14.99!

I didn't realize that the Elite version of The Evil Dead was out of print (or is it really?). Maybe I shouldn't hold out too much longer on buying it.
I've already got the Book of the Dead edition but I want to have both aspect ratios.

the oar of "the evil dead" is academy ratio, not anamorphic. although raimi approved the anamorphic dvd and it was shown matted in some theaters. the elite release is supposed to have the best video and audio according to dvdfile. also according to dvdfile, it is oop. tower has it for $14.99. i just watched it with the campbell commentary--very amusing.

i also sampled some prime scenes from "jurassic park" in dts. wow. just jaw-dropping sound. i can see why this is considered a reference disc.

-edit-
btw, the list price for elite's "the evil dead" is $34.95.
