Paramount's 9|11, HBO's In Memoriam, and CNN's America Remembers are all outstanding productions.

Since I believe that all of the 9/11-related DVDs are donating their proceeds to related charities, that's just out of line.

i stand corrected.

it has been a year. why the hell haven't we found bin-laden yet? whatever happened to bush's "wanted dead or alive" schtick? bush's attitude now is, "we failed in our mission, but bin-laden wasn't really that important anyway. hey everybody, look over here! we're going to war against iraq!! *waving arms* lalalala! forget about bin-laden! lalalala!"

the blood of the dead and wounded and the torn fabric of american society scream for justice, and we still have none. are our intelligence agencies really so incompetent? how hard can it be to find some primative religious nutcase squatting in a cave?

i apologize for the anger in my post. a year later i still feel no sense of healing, just fury. this all seemed so pointless and meaningless, 3000 dead for what? sure there were many acts of bravery after the attacks, but the fbi was TOLD before hand by one of their agents that a plan was in place to fly jumbo jets into the trade center, and these warnings were ignored. the fbi and cia need to pull their fucking heads out of their asses and start sharing information before another bunch of violent cavemen decide their pathetic lives are america's fault and pull something even more atrocious than 9/11.

I find that statement to be quite rude, not to mention blatantly offensive to the filmmakers, producers, and those, like myself, who have purchased their works. Did the Naudet Brothers have dollar signs flashing in their eyes as they filmed the events unfolding? Furthermore, every DVD I've seen about 9|11 has proceeds going to victims or other related causes. Plus... if the DVD buying public wants to buy them, then they have every right to make a DVD and sell it.... proceeds to charity or not. I would be upset if they DIDN'T. I feel that every one of these DVDs is an important historical record and I'm very proud to purchase and own them.

Back on topic.... I concur with filmjax, those 3 are the best I've seen.

i was referring to all the t.v. specials they are running now. i didn't realize they were releasing dvds. if they want to donate the dvd profits to 9/11 charities, that's great. as long as the money actually goes to help people.

again, i apologize for any misdirected rage. i'm not myself today.

Ill have to agree here. First it rains over here in El Paso and in Juarez too.

Everything seems so quiet right now and for some reason is very cloudy here and quiet, but in a happy way.

I may be mexican but, GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I hate te be OT, being new and all, but I have to say something.

Odds are, the Elite Forces killed him in the first week and stuffed his body in a cave never to be found.

If they know he's alive he will continue his "holy war", If he's dead they get even more pissed off at us. So it would be a lose-lose situation.

Think about it.....

Well, regardless of whether or not I'm supplying "the man" with a buck, I bought 9/11 - A Filmmaker's Commemorative Edition and I wasn't disappointed in the least bit. I don't have the patience to wade through the crap on TV, so the DVD was the absolute right choice for me.

The documentary is amazing, and it really touches your heart at some moments to see what exactly transpired inside the WTC after they collapsed. Stunning footage and real people.

I haven't seen any of them, but I've read that the HBO one is excellent.

I dunno, I don't really want to see them I guess. I work in the media and this is my daily life dealing with it. Today I turned my TV off and tried to avoid it as much as I could. My friend at the radio station was almost in tears this morning. She works at the local NPR station and that was all they had on, and even though she wanted to avoid it, she simply couldn't. Some people need to be engrossed in it. That is their way of dealing. Others don't want it out of mind, but it may simply still be too hard on them to deal with. I had to make a package for Tuesday night's newscast and it choked me up making it. If anyone wants to see it, I can maybe post it on my site. That made up my mind to turn the TV off today.

For those interested in non-video media (gasp! on a DVD board?!) last week's Newsweek was very well done. It will bring out the tears, but very impactful reading the variety of stories from the wide variety of people it affected.

It isn't just God Bless America--it's God Bless the World. As long as there are people this full of hate, then none of us are safe, regardless of race, religion, or nationality.

Wow, that's the first time I've read that here, and I don't think truer words have been spoken. I wish everyone thought of it that way.

i haven't forgotten your wrist-slap, and i have been checking websites and looking at the actual dvds, and i cannot find anywhere that says a penny of the proceeds are going to charity.
