Trading Places SE?

I was gonna pick up the recent edition, but seeing as a few people bemoaned the fact that none of the recent interviews or any extras were on this title, I held off.

Then a thought struck me: If Paramount just threw out a sub-standard edition of "Grease" with news that a better set will be out 2004, would it not be possible that another release could be in store for "Trading Places" 20th Anniversary next Christmas 2003?

...

Even though I own Trading Places and fidn it to be a fantastic movie, there is nearly zero chance this'll ever get a SE. Grease has a massive cult following, Trading PLaces doesn't.

Don't expect a SE anytime, um, ever.

If there's not going to be an SE of Trading place, I refuse to buy a movie only DVD at 18$ or whatever it costs at Best Buy. I'll wait till it goes down to 10$, or I find it used somewhere. Only full featured DVD's are worth 18$ to me nowadays, no matter how good the movie is.

Well... if I recall correctly, a year ago Paramount discs like this one (ex. Airplane!) were selling for about $25. At least Paramount has wised up a bit and lowered the prices on these barebone embarrassments.

Totally agree....There have been numerous dvds i've put back on the shelf from paramount that was'nt worth my $$ even at 17.99 for NO extras!!! Trading places,Pretty in pink,Some kind of wonderful, and dont forget the fiasco of The history of Beavis & Butthead!!!...which they said it was'nt the direction they wanted to take so it was recalled???....so discs were manufactured ....box art completed ...copies shipped 2 days before release you pull it...? i know the reason ...on a menu screen they parodied a work of art containing the boys and they did'nt have clearence.... btw a rumored new date is set for 12/31 so dont give in to the current $150-200 price point at ebay unless your a real oop dvd collector.....all in all whomever is in charge of dvd production at paramount ....you suck :barf: Are you gonna get my money for your bare bones catalog titles ?....look closely....... Bring the price down if there are no extras!!! 9.99-14.99(with trailers) at least MGM knows dvd !!!!!
