Shrink Wrap Stickers...
OK...perhaps I need some professional help but...
Does anyone else save the stickers from the outside of the shrink wrap? Now, I'm not talking about the 'security stickers' or even the one with the title on the top of the box...those I discard (I mean I'm not a lunatic! ).I'm talking about the ones that they will put on the outside of the shrink wrap that often describe the features on the DVD. I have to admit, I used to do this with particularly cool CD and LP shrink wrap stickers...and its carried over into DVD. Many times with the DVD stickers, you can peel them right away from the shrink wrap without them tearing. I'll usually just stick them on a part of the inside of the plastic case if they are the standard type DVD case. If its a cool sticker and I can't remove it from the shrink wrap, then I'll just cut around the sticker, shrink wrap and all, and put it inside the DVD booklet or something like that. I don't really know why I do this, I guess its a bit of OCD type behavior...but I don't save ones that are not unique to the DVD like '2 Disc Set' or something along those lines, just the ones that have some details about the release. ![]() |

I'm the same way, but only if the sticker is removable.
If it tears or won't come off then it's in the trash with it, otherwise it goes inside the plastic keepcase (or in the case of boxsets like Buffy and the Simpsons, I stick it on the back of the one-sheet thing attached to the back of the box.) Crazy behavior really. I did once keep the top sticky label with the movie title, because I was so proud that it read Robocop: Criterion Collection, but after a month or so I ended up throwing it out ![]() |

I would probably never do that. It's just the advertising sticker right?
Now maybe if it had a cool picture on it or was a hologram or something. I peel all those security labels and stickers and stuff off. -Flash

I am a ridiculously anal person when it comes to DVDs. They must all be in alphabetical order on the shelf. They must line up nicely so the spines don't all stick out. Preferably, the discs should be inserted on the spindle with the title reading straight (i.e., the lettering should not appear upside down when I open the box).
But I do not save shrinkwrap stickers.

leonard: i guess i'm the only one with you... with cds, i used to try peeling them, but most of em would just tear, so i started cutting around them, and just sliding it in under the trays [good, since jewel cases tend to break!] -- so with DVD, they just get slid underneath the clear covers.
i keep the the security stickers too. yes, i'm serious. (: |

Can I join the anal DVD club?
Since the huge LD box sets that came out, I thought it was a shame to throw away the gorgeous gold-style stickers that came on the back of the boxes, especially Disney sets. I would peel or cut them off (very carefully - opening a new disc is a religious occaision for me) and put them in their very own photo album. When it came to CD box sets and DVDs I have found myself doing the same. I cut them out (peeling seems to take an age, and they usually rip) and put them in my photo book, all laid out and everything. Sad I know. I even keep some of the non-descriptive stickers, but I don't bother if it's a double. The idea of putting them in the case is pretty cool, but the photo album thing means they won't fall out or go missing. For the paper sleeves, such on the MIP LE or the Simpsons sets, I remove the "glue" and put those particular inserts inside the boxes. All my discs are lined up first in catagories (Disney, Animation, Features, Music/TV/Docs and Promo/Shorts) and then placed in original release date order, so early stuff is at the start, and the recent stuff is towards the end. I don't bother to line up all the spines (as the difference is minimal to me and they're always getting moved back and forth to add new titles), but I do keep my LD collection spines lined up. Guess SACD can stand for something else: Sad Anal Collectors of Discs. ![]()
