Lord Crumb's October line-up

Here's a list of my favorite October titles, taken from another current HALLOWEEN thread. They're films I only like to watch around Halloween and usually don't watch until then.
I need your help. I need you to vote for the movie you'd be most likely to watch around Halloween. What I'll end up doing is watching them in sequence according to the amount of votes a title gets. So, I'll start my October line-up with the title with the least amount of votes and end with the one with the most.
I know what you're thinking...this is stupid...well, I'm bored, my October movies are precious to me and it seemed like a fun project to try, so now that you're already here, just vote

Mods - Wasn't sure if this should go in the T&OT forum. Move accordingly if need be.

This is a cool way to decide what order to watch from your collection.

It would be fun to do this type of poll for other genre like comedy, drama, etc...

I voted The Exorcist. Its the scariest!!!!!!

How can you ONLY watch the BURBS once a year!!! That movie rocks! Once, Tom Hanks came into the dvd store I was working at. I got him to sign a dvd of the Burbs for me. I told him it was my favorite film of his. I think he thought that I was weird because of it, but I swear my loyalty to this film. I love it.

Wow! That's awesome! A signed copy of The Burbs!!!
Now, not ALL of these movies are reserved for October. Many ARE, but not all of them. I definitely watch The Burbs a couple of times a year. It is one of my all-time favorite comedies. Glad to see someone likes it as much as I do!

I voted for Night of the Living Dead. When I was little, I watched it on tv every Halloween after trick or treating. I guess it has sentimental value for me. My dad and I used to act out the beginning scene ("I'm coming to get you Barbara") and chase my mom around. I don't know what that says about my family, but it one of my favorite childhood memories.

I voted for Phantasm for these reasons:

1. It is a classic

2. The Tall Man

3. BOOOYYYYY!!!!!!

Strangely enough, I'm like you Lord Crumb, I generally watch most of my horror dvds during the course of October. I don't know what it is or for what reason, but October is my favorite month of the year.

Must be all the horror.

...so what are you going to do in the even of a tie...

It was a hard choice for me between Phantasm and Evil Dead, both are October classics for me. I ended up voting Phantasm though, just because there has been so much hype with all the re-re-rereleasings that Iv'e already watched Evil Dead, like 2000 times in the past few months.

All these are winners though. I'll be watching all these movies this October as well. I wonder what the chances are that we end up watching the same movie on the same night...

Everytime I see Bruce Dern, I crack up thinking of him nibbling on Barnum's animal crackers.

Definitely the burbs.

Sleepy Hollow is one of my Halloweentime musts. Spooky and fiendishly funny. The film I watch on Halloween night every year without fail, though, is The Nightmare Before Christmas, followed up by Burton's Frankenweenie. What fun!

I'm your sole vote for In the Mouth of Madness. It's not my favorite Carpenter film, but I think its the scariest. It's also one of the few movies which really feels like an H. P. Lovecraft story.

Why wasn't Event Horizon on your list?

Not a Halloween goes by for me where I don't watch The Evil Dead. So that got my vote.

Second place would be "some other film" - The Shining. But if I recall correctly, i don't think you're too big on that movie (?).

Thanks for all your votes, guys. I'm surprised Sleepy Hollow is getting so many votes. I ONLY watch it around Halloween 'cuz I hate it any other time of the year.

Whoa now...I watch my horror dvds all year round. I just have a bunch that I prefer to watch around this time of year. They just have a "fall vibe" if you know what I mean. Out of all my discs, I'd say that 95% are horror, so when I'm watching a movie (which is quite often, odds are it's not a romantic comedy

The Shining is good. I'm not NUTS about it, but I do watch it from time to time.
