Scooby doo coming out on a friday - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

Hi eveyone, I was just checking websites to see what I am going to buy next week. I saw scooby doo in the theater and actually liked it. Plus have to have it cause I have every sarah michelle gellar movie. But why is this disc coming out on a friday? I was looking forward to watching it this tuesday.

Last I had heard, it was being released on the 15th of this month. Where did you see that (just so I have my info correct)? Friday releases don't happen too often, but I believe Shrek did it last year.

Well I checked bestbuy.com, circuit city.com, deepdiscountdvd, and amazon.com. They all say the 11th.

There is a simple reason why Scooby Doo is being released on Friday October 11th. It's my BIRTHDAY & this way I'll get to see it without having the 3 day wait (which I'll have for Beauty & the Beast). Those are the 2 dvds on my birthday list & I am assured that I'll be getting them. I tried to talk Disney into an Oct. 11 release date but they are very rigid.

I liked Scooby-Doo except for one BIG thing:

Freddie Prinz Jr has the acting ability of a floor mop. :barf:

How does this stiff keep getting acting gigs?! Oh wait, I remember: He's married to SMG!

S-Doo is definately streeting on the 11th...a Friday (week from tomorrow).

It happens from time-to-time. Marketing drives it for the "hottest" titles (ones that maybe they want an extra boost for).

Shrek is certainly not the only other example. Spiderman hits on Fri. Nov 1st. The first Blair Witch streeted on a Friday. Blade II *was* gonna be on a Fri, but got switched to the Tues after at the last second. I can't think of other examples right now, but they're out there.

Someone should compile a list!

I have to agree with dvdjedi about the absence of acting talent in one Freddie Prinze Jr. If there is a worse actor in Hollywood getting steady work I can't think of one. I love Scooby Doo the Movie in spite of his horrid performance.
