Whatever happened to 12 Monkeys UE?

Yea? I remember reading about it when universal was gung ho with their UE releases. Whatever happened to it? Is it still in production? I own the current Collectord Edition which is pretty damn good. Thanks.

I really don't know what extras they could add to this. A lot of people might buy a two-disc just for the higher bitrate on the feature, but the extras are pretty great on this already.

Also, has there even been any Ultimate Editions since Legend?

The last I heard, Universal cancelled any future Ultimate Editions and are phasing out the line with Legend being the last. No reason why that I know of.

I'll bet they are trying to think of a way to screw us out of those expensive-to-produce extra features while still charging "Ultimate Edition" prices like Columbia-Tristar has so expertly done with their Superbit line. OK, maybe not.

So no more Ultimates? Well... I'm not heartbroken... their CE's are usually great anyway and the UE packaging sucked...

12 monkeys

I wish they would come out with a full frame version. The letterbox added no picture information to the sides and cut off a lot from the top and bottom.

Not a good statement to make here

Anyway, even though this was filmed open-matte or whatever, it was framed with widescreen in mind, and that is the way the director intended it to be seen, as many on here will say as well I'm sure...

It was shot in Open-Matte which composes the image for TV & theaters.
But it isnt where you see more, its where you see the CORRECT info.

Gilliam clearly intended the film for theaters, & so its on the theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, so its extremely clear he wanted it that way.
