There's no telling yet what will end up on this disc for sure, but my 4-year-old is going to be in heaven when this one hits stores. Again, street date is Tuesday, April 1, 2003. SRP is $19.99, and running time is listed as 168 minutes. MAY THE POWER PROTECT YOU! ![]() |

I was thinking of posting this myself, but i doubted many really cared here. I am so excited! I've been waiting for some form of PR DVD (besides the movies) since I first bought my player and the DVD release of the movies was part of the reason I bought my DVD player in the first place. Can't wait to add this to my collection!

Someone please explain to me their affinity towards Power Rangers. I won't call them "gay" but IMO they are wildly lame . I remember watching this show WAY back when it first started. I stopped watching it because the PR always won, ALWAYS. I just really saw no point. I remember the last episode I saw, once it finished it had the "next time on Power Rangers clip" The clip was showing the PR fighting a giant wheel. Let me repeat that, a giant wheel. I remember saying, "shit these guys are running out of ideas." Never saw the show again.

Oh the memories... like that cheap spin off with three people and they had some HQ with a giant video screen... what was that called? And when those nude pictures of Kimberly, the pink ranger (fake or not I dont know) surfaced on the internet... man, my adolescent ass loved those. And the SNES games! At the time I couldn't admit to liking the show without suffering an ass-whompin' but those games kicked ass. I did have a group of friends that I could talk about the show with though. We were all part of Horizons - once a week we were carted off to some school to learn foreign languages and read Shakespeare - many a MMPR conversation was held during those wonderful times. ![]() |

Dude, I 'm not gay, nor do I have to answer to you if I am. End of story. Completely uncalled for. Brian: Thank you for the swift response there.
For the record, I never much cared about the PR's until my son came along. When the "Lightspeed Rescue" series started before he was 2, he was already into the show. He thought the yellow LS Rescue ranger was "momma", because they kinda look alike. In the meantime, I realized that the show wasn't all that bad; it was like a live-action cartoon. I enjoy Voltron, and they always win. I enjoy classic He-Man, and he always wins. I enjoyed the Superfriends vs. The Legion of Doom, too. I realized that this wasn't much differenct. Then, when Time Force came along, which I can't say I enjoyed as much as Lightspeed, I realized that there was actually some bona fide SciFi concepts hidden under the fantasy. Nothing earth-shattering, but intriguing to a Trekkie like me. Still, it's a fantasy, a comic book. Yeah, they ran out of ideas and got silly with the original show. That's why they now scrap each show after two seasons and regenerate into something new. Next up is Power Rangers: Ninja Force, I think. Many monsters and villians were dumb, but so's your below-average Star Trek episode. It's the stand-outs that make it count, right? In the meantime, my son has escalated into the biggest PR fan around. He's devoured every VHS and the existing DVD. He's watched episodes I d/l'ed from the net, that have never been on home video ("Countdown to Destruction" is his favorite). He can name every ranger on every version of the series. He has two store-bought CD soundtracks, plus a third from Europe I got via eBay. I mixed them all onto a burned CD he loves to listen to on road trips. His room has a wall dedicated to pics of the Rangers. And he's got more toys than he knows what to do with. He loves the Rangers, and he enjoys sharing them with me. His mom thinks they're okay, too. Why judge us? In the meantime, it's helped him learn colors, learn the basics of good vs. evil, learn to count (as the Rangers count themselves into their megazords), and even learn a bit about Earth and the stars. Oh, and I've helped him realize that it's all pretend. "Just on TV". He doesn't go around kickboxing the other kids. Anyway... For those of you still with us, here is the info about "Forever Red" I mentioned. For those of you secret Ranger fans who missed the spectacle of this episode a couple of weeks ago, here is a couple of screen shots: Left to right:
I must have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much free time on my hands! Ah, well...it's not all that bad. Just a TV comic book, really. A fantasy. If you don't like it, don't buy it. And stay off of ABC on Saturday late-mornings. 'Kay?Last edited by Unicorn : 10-20-2002 at 11:55 AM. |

I stopped watching the show after the first 3 seasons. After that it just went on and on...............
But I was obsessed with the show when it was on ten years ago. Didn't know there was that "Forever Red" show on. It woulda been a trip down memory lane. Is it going to re-air anytime soon? |

I don't know why, but I kinda dig the "Power Rangers". At least, the original series. There's just something..."Ultraman"-esque about them (not that they can actually top "Ultraman"). I for one wish they'd just release "season sets" instead of crappy "best of" collections. And yes, I'm 20 and I just admitted I like the "Power Rangers"--lock me up forever!

I was never a huge fan, but I have a little brother, he's 12 now and has fallen away from the Power Rangers , but he used to love thme back in the day. I have to say there were soem good episodes and the first couple seasons, weren't...the movie was decent too, lol. But I have to say that the Turbo was the beginning of the end for at least me.

I don't like Power Rangers much myself anymore, but this is good news for you fans out there. I'm assuming Disney/Buena Vista is releasing it? Now if only they'd do season sets instead, or maybe even season sets of Spider-Man....

Lately, it looks as if Disney thinks they can run PR better than MMPR Productions have since 1993. They fired everyone after the latest season finished filming and Village Roadshow / KP Productions took over. Filming begins this month in New Zealand. Disney supposedly plans to make it a teen action drama rather than just a kids action show. The new season begins in February on ABC & ABC Family.
