"The Prowler" & "The Toolbox Murders"

Has anybody seen either of these two films? Which one of the two is the better film (i.e. which one has better A/V, and which one is better overall)?

I picked up both of these and, while not for all tastes, they are effective slasher pictures.

Both movies have wonderful transfers IMHO (given their miniscule budgets), while The Prowler tends to be a bit grainier and darker. Both movies have excellent but unremarkable DD mono tracks. These tracks don't disappoint, but don't expect too much.

I like The Prowler as a gory slasher pic, but Toolbox rocks as a cheap, seventies cheese sicko movie...it's great!

Enjoy!

I'd go with The Prowler, it's the better - and gorier - movie.
Excellent Make-up FX, also has some interesting Behind-the-scenes footage supplied by Tom Savini himself.
I, however, found The Toolbox Murders quite lame and dissapointing. All the killings take place pretty much in the beginning, then almost nothing happens for the rest of the movie. The FX are quite mediocre and nowhere near as elaborate as the ones used in The Prowler.
All in all, the picture quality of both DVD's is pretty good. The Toolbox murders has a little better picture.

Best,
ILSA
