MY WISHLIST Friday the 13th and Halloween

Hi Gang,

I have been watching this board for quite a while and I decided to list my personal wishlist of movies on DVD. I have close to 330 in my collection.

Here goes:

Moving (Pryor)
License to Drive
Taking Care of Business
Road House
Nine to Five
Kickboxer
Police Academy Trilogy (I know, I know...)
The Monster Squad
If looks could kill
Karate Kid Box
Just one of the Guys (Cheezie 80's teen flick)
Big Business
Weird Science
The Wizard
Swamp Thing

There are a ton more but I forget now.

Also what I wanted to ask was is there any new developments or news about the box sets for

Friday the 13
Halloween

I refuse to buy these individually until they come out with a box set a la Nightmare on Elm Street.

Cheers!

D

Weeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.......

This belongs in software first of all...

About the horror movie sets, I wouldn't expect it. The Halloween movies are split up over several companies and they would probably never combine forces on it. And Jason is the same way, though a collection of the Paramount films might happen, but don't expect a big discount judging from their other sets...

Weird science was on dvd but pulled (oop) because of a disagreement between image and universal the discs show up on ebay frequently ..be prepared to pay 20-40 but the transfer is a-ok but with a 2.0 mix and no extras its up to you...i bought mine for 9.99 before all the titles were pulled but being that universal has no immediate plans to reissue them its your call...

Pat me on the back, I used the search button

Regarding the Friday the 13th box set, I was just browsing Columbia House, and under the "New & Noteworthy" section they have a set for sale. There's no picture, but it's described as a "club assembled set" and only includes the first eight movies. In typical CH fashion, It's grossly overpriced at $159.95.

I remember reading that Paramount has been working on a special edition box set that will come after they've rereleased all of the movies. So apparently they have acquired the distribution rights? Granted, it was about a year ago that I read this.

Not true.

They are split between Anchor Bay and Miramax. Infact there is a Halloween box set in R2

Released by Anchor Bay Entertainment UK, HALLOWEEN: THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is the definitive collector's boxed set, bringing together for the first time on DVD the best of the Halloween series – Halloween; Halloween II; Halloween III: Season Of The Witch; Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers; Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers; and Halloween H2O: Twenty Years On. All six discs are re-mastered and fully loaded with extras, including a 59-minute documentary on John Carpenter.

That's Region 2 Shawn, here in Region one it's worse:

Halloween - Artisan
Halloween 2 - Universal
Halloween 3 - Goodtimes
Halloween 4 - Anchor Bay
Halloween 5 - Anchor Bay
Halloween 6 and up - Miramax

I don't see any box set forthcoming here in the states.

I thought Halloween I was Anchor Bay.

And Halloween III is out of print now, although Good Times probably still has the rights to it.

What R1 AND R2 need is a producers cut (am I right in saying this) of Halloween 6. Now that would be interesting.
