The Twilight Zone Arrives in Boxed Sets (Sort of) - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

As I squeeze in episodes of the original Outer Limits between university studies (over a month after I bought the set), I discovered from dvdempire.com that The Twilight Zone will finally be released in boxed sets!

But there's a catch: each set is NOT an entire season, but a random collection of episodes. The first two sets, entitled The Twilight Zone: The Collection 1 and 2, will include over 35 episodes on each set (which is comparable to the amount of episodes produced per season). Each set will be priced at $100 a pop (just like X-Files and ST:TNG) and will be released in early December.

While it's not the season-by-season boxed sets I was hoping for, if each set includes thirty-five episodes, then there will be only four or five boxed sets to complete the series--it's still inexpensive compared to buying multiple volumes (at $20 a pop).
I know what I'll be asking for this Christmas!

I wonder why they didn't just release season sets

makes no sense to me, but I hope I can collect them all

Can't wait to see Where is Everybody in Anamorphic!

For real though, this is awesome. I just wish i could afford it.

Sounds like they're just repackaging the 3-4 episode disks they have out now. Not that I'm complaining. Fortunately, I've only bought 1 TZ disk.

You are correct. The new box sets are the same discs that are already available, packaged in five sets of nine discs each (comprising the 43 numbered discs and the two Treasures discs), with a somewhat better MSRP than the current releases ($100 for 9 discs, versus $135 for the same nine discs, purchased separately).
