Hey
Kurosawas Dreams is comming out in March, is this any good?
Seven Samurai is one of my all time favorites!!!
If only Criterion would get around to releaseing a dvd of Throne of Blood....Thedigitalbits has the cover up.

Also Murder by Decree is comming out from Anchor Bay, this is the best Jack The Ripper Adaptation yet !!! Sherlock Rules

Didn't see any threads on any of these movies...

I love this movie...it's a collection of short stories without a lot of narrative, more like Kurosawa takes on Haiku...visually stunning, and just plain cool. Martin Scorsese plays a fun role, too...

excellent movie, visual poetry. The short stories are all actual dreams that Kurosawa had throughout his life. They are in a chronological order. If you are familiar at all with his childhood, some of these stories are very haunting in context and explain some of his struggle with hope and the human condition. It bounces between beauty, playfulness, and horror. It is the closest thing to seeing my own dreams come to life. very powerful stuff.

It's actually "Murder by Decree", but I'm really excited for it, too! If only I could actually afford it!
