Out of Sight vs. U-Turn

Which is the better flick with Jennifer Lopez?

I could barely sit through U TURN. Thought it was awful. Conversely, OUT OF SIGHT is one of the best movies of the last 10 years. I watch it all the time on DVD. Highly recommended.

Exactly.
Out of Sight is too good to have never seen.
I completely agree that's one of the best films in recent years. Very fun movie to watch (which I do very often - one of my girlfriend's favourites too).
All actors are great and the scenes with Clooney and Lopez are some of the hottest stuff I've ever seen.
My favourite Soderberg film.

I don't know why I haven't seen Out of Sight yet. I love Jackie Brown (based on a novel by the same author of the book Out of Sight is based on), and I'm currently reading Rum Punch (said novel that Jackie Brown is based upon).
I need to rent this.

I love Out of Sight. It is one of my favorite movies of 1998 and one of the reasons I bought a DVD player.

I never saw U Turn.

One cool thing about Out Of Sight is that Michael Keaton makes an unbilled appearance portraying Ray Nicolette, his character from Jackie Brown! Awesome little cameo.

And yes, Out Of Sight is a magnificent movie, one of 1998's best. Lopez looks smashing, as well.

I really like both films, but Out of Sight is far superior. God Jennifer Lopez is sexy in that movie

Out Of Sight is proof that Jennifer Lopez can act, making her more recent "work" all the more depressing.

Lopez is actually hotter in Out of Sight, and it is a better film, but I love U-Turn. Oliver Stone has total balls and he's always sticking his neck out there. I really admire that. He's always trying different things, so even when the films don't work so well, I still don't get bored watching them.

And that differs from Soderberg how? I like some Stone movies too, but what you said about him seems to me like it could apply to both equally well, and Soderberg's experiments seem to be successful more often.

Though I will admit I haven't seen U-Turn. Out of Sight is great. I avoided it when it came out in the theatre and then on VHS because of Clooney and Lopez, but they were both fine. Clooney's past in TV and that horrible Batman movie gave him a lot to make up for, but between this, Ocean's Eleven, and Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? he's actually redeemed himself.

I actually like dU-Turn more than Out of Sight. My friend loved Out of Sight because of the Clooney/Lopez interaction, but I enjoyed the "strangeness" of U-Turn more..... Plus Billy Bob Thornton played the HELL out of that roll!

Peace......

Out of Sight is pretty much the only good film Lopez has ever been in, and it is a great film, so wins hands down.

Out of Sight was the first Soderbergh film I saw, and I thought it was great. Great supporting cast, too, and the chemistry between Clooney and J.Lo is pretty good.

Haven't seen U-Turn yet. It's been on cable TV a few times already, but I've just never felt interested enough to actually watch it.

I quite like U-turn. I think it's a hilarious black comedy. But it's got nothing on 'Out of Sight'. It's one of my most re-watched dvds. It's one of those movies where everything is just right. Pure movie-magic.

I am a huge fan of both Oliver Stone and Steven Soderbergh. They both have very different styles and U-Turn is not a good judge of a Stone movie, but it has some good parts. On the other hand, Out of Sight is an awesome movie and really made a mark for Soderbergh with critics and the public.

I'm not sure how many people have the Oliver Stone DVD collection, but on the disc entitled "Oliver Stone's America" as well as on the U-Turn disc, Stone admits that U-Turn was a bad movie but he says it was something that he needed to get out of his system and when he did he was back on track. It reminds me more of a Terry Gilliam meets Quentin Tarentino movie. It is good if you are in the right state of mind and you like movies like that.

I'm not going to vote on this one though, it is like saying which is better, orange sorbet or an ice cold Guiness.

I haven't seen either since my VHS days, but I remember liking both of them. The Oliver Stone 10-Pack is on my "Most Wanted" list and I can't wait to see U-Turn again to evaluate it.

Out of Sight is a damn good movie as well, although "J.LO" is not a good actress IMO she did a good job in it.

I'm partial to Out of Sight, I think it's a great film and plus I'm a huge Elmore Leonard fan.
