Solaris/Event Horizon Connection
It seems to me that the remake of Sorlaris is going to be a bit like Event Horizon. Here's a quote from James Cameron (one of the producers):
"From the moment Kelvin enters the space station, you know that there is great jeopardy there. You don't understand the nature of the danger right away. You think that it could be anything – there could be a monster there, a murderer. It turns out the jeopardy is to one's sanity," says Cameron. "Kelvin's strongest image is of his wife who died several years earlier. So Solaris in a sense sets the stage for a playing out of this relationship beyond her death, which is a pretty dramatic conceit" What are your thoughts? ![]() |

Not to be too nitpicky, but it's more like Event Horizon is like Solaris, being that the original Russian film came out in like 1976, way before Event Horizon was a twinkle in Paul Anderson's eye.
![]() Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I liked Event Horizon. ![]() This'll probably be moved to Now Playing Forum. Agalloch |

Similar theme I guess. I wouldn't expect it to be a lot like EV though. I too think Event Horizon is a great film. But then I tend to judge films more by their look rather than by the story or whatever, especially sci-fi films.
Still to each their own. I mean we can't all have good taste can we.... ![]() |
