MGM DVDs

Hey everybody, newbie here (705 DVDs and counting)...

Just a quick question--does anybody know of any resources that list which MGM DVDs have no inserts?

I talked to MGM (and used to work for them), and they said that their research showed that inserts "aren't that important", and so they don't include them.

I've bought some DVDs that haven't got any inserts, and usually you can tell which ones probably wouldn't have them. But I got the CQ special edition, and it didn't have one--that seemed odd since it WAS a special edition...

Does anybody know of any resources on this?

Thanks
Chap

UHF is another Special Edition that is Insert-less. I don't know of any comprehensive list, though, sorry.

All of 'em

Truthfully, I've yet to come across an MGM disc that has an insert. I know "Hannibal" has one, but not a single budget release I've found has had one. And, truth to tell, most inserts suck anyway...

My CQ has an insert. Just a single sheet with chapter listings and a cast rundown.

Well, unfortunately, for collectors such as myself, inserts are part of what I paid for--and I'd like to receive them along with my disc.

Most of my MGM's have a chapter listing and some cover art at least. The only disc I can think of without one that I own is "Men at Work".

I know for a fact that UHF and Men at Work don't. Their new releases and SEs of older films tend to contain their inserts, but their budget titles don't. The only budget discs that do contain them to my knowlege are the Bill & Ted movies.

For the most part, it seems that catalog titles that MGM releases don't have one (or ones that they're going to price really low). I think CQ not having one is a bit strange since it is a special edition as mentioned before. All of the James Bond titles have an insert....

I'll repeat what I said above: my CQ had an insert which listed chapters and the cast.

How can they be "part of what you paid for" if they never existed in the first place.
And seriously, how often do we look at the inserts? I usually will look at them once, when the disk is brand new. After that it's kind of pointless.
What do you do? Just stare at the insert all day? I prefer to watch the movie. That's what I paid for.

I would like to point out that I have a LOT of MGM titles and they all have inserts except for Men at Work. Maybe this is a new thing, but a lot of titles above I have an insert for.
