Addicted to Snatch...
you know after typing the heading of this topic, i had to laugh...
but, anyhoo... is it me, or is snatch an addicting movie. i'm always getting the urge to want to watch it at the weirdest points of the day (i.e. while i'm on the commode, when i'm at work ...LOL). i think it's just me though cause everyone i know that saw it hated it. i just keep thinking about that damn dog breathing. please, if anyone else has the same problem, please speak out so i don't feel so bad ...or are you afraid of "zee germans"? |

Absolutely! Me too! Always thinking about it. Always wanting it. Enjoying it when I'm experiencing it. A definite addiction.
Oh the movie? It's good too. (cue rimshot) But yeah, I liked the movie (and contrastingly to your experience, everyone I know who's seen it, really liked it too - clearly my friends are cooler than your ). I've only watched my DVD twice (and once in the theatre), so I wouldn't say I'm addicted to it by any means. Don't worry pal, we all have movies we're addicted to. And snatches. |

I truly hope Guy Ritchie reads the DVDFile Forum and sees that headline.
Man, I am so glad you started this topic. I am addicted as hell. I saw it in the theater, have watched the DVD countless times, will absolutely stop whatever I am doing and/or watching if I flip through and see it on cable and will watch it in crappy P&S Time-Warner digital if it is on. I am going to buy the Superbit version just to have it. My friends are so tired of me quoting from it, I- That's it. I'm going to go put it in right now. |

Snatch was my first DVD. It's also my most watched DVD by far.
I love the movie! The night I bought it I watched it twice back to back, once with commentary and once without.I think I used to be 'addicted' to it, and my brother and I would watch it like once a week. But that was also because we had very little dvd choices I haven't watched it in a while and now I'm getting the urge.....*golden brown plays in my head* Which reminds me, that movie has the best soundtrack! ![]() |

i think one of the reasons i love it so much is that the dialog is so perfect.
kudos to guy richie for writing a perfect script. IMHO it's one of the funniest movies i've seen ...(then again i thought bubble boy was really funny too). to me it's one of those flat out entertaining movies that, in a sense, "spoon feeds" you but still makes you think (because of all the character interaction). ensemble movies are one of my favs if the character development is just right, and this one does it well. anyhoo, off to work... and then home to have an Alien marathon. |

I too wish to watch some Alien movies. Especially since they're running a special on it tomorrow on AMC.
Oh, and about Snatch: That movie came out of nowhere for me. I hadn't seen Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels, so it was a real surprise to see such a hip and stylish British film. And the cameos are all great to witness. You need subtitles engaged for Brad Pitt's screen-time.

yea... it's a definite buy. you have to watch it a few times to really get past the accents, but it's well worth it. funniest role brad pitt had since floyd the stoner.
i think i'm gonna go out and buy 1000 copies of it so i can fulfill a lifelong dream ... to have a whole roomful of "Snatch" that's all mine ...bought and paid for and i agree about the shawshank redemption boddah. it's my all time favorite movie. if you want a shocker read stephen king's short story ...you'll be surprised. a couple of other movies i can watch over and over again are pump up the volume and sling blade. sling blade just cracks me up. |

Well, the story line sounds quite interesting. I think I would like this film.
Will buy, eventually.

Call me nuts, but I think I'm more addicted to Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels. I picked that one up last Christmas with a giftcard and and watched it every night at least once for about a week or two (I was unemployed at the time). But they're both very high on my list. My biggest problem is that I'll hit one of my favorites scenes and keep hitting rewind to watch it over and over. Then when I'm done with the movie I'll go back again and watch my favorite scenes some more. It takes me about 3-4 hours to watch either of these movies.
![]() However I promised myself that I wouldn't go back and watch either movie until I get caught up on the dozen or so movies still sitting unwatched on my shelf. That's not too much to catch up on unless you happen to have a six week old baby who chooses your only free time of the day to be awake and grouchy (after the wife is in bed). But they're mainly classics that I've never seen before ever. Things like Lawrence of Arabia, Taxi Driver, Rear Window, Bridge on the River Kwai, Vertigo, etc. Even so, last night I had the urge to pop in Lock, Stock or Snatch again. |
