It's the flying man!
Can someone help me on this? On the Rocketeer disc, there is what appears to be a layer change within five minutes of the movie starting. It occurs a fraction after the 'Directed by Joe Johnston' credit disappears. Is it just a fault in my copy, or is this actually a layer change? It seems to be in a very noticeable place, surely they could've picked a better moment? And while I'm on it, was this print edited on tape instead of film? Almost every single time a cut takes place, there is visible 'video snow' at the bottom of the frame. Just freeze the image and advance forward slowly til you hit the one frame prior to the shot changing. You'll see what I mean. I know everyone hated this DVD, but it seems like BV went out of their way to offer a crappy disc. (Other than the sound) Am severly P.O'ed, and interested to hear feedback on this.

My guess is that they're using the multi-angle trick to show the credits in French for the French audio version, and in English for the English audio version. Many discs use this trick. It looks like your player doesn't handle the switch very well, or it was just mastered poorly. Probably the latter.

I had wondered about that, but I tried it with the display on, and the film remains on angle 2 for the duration of the flick, not just the opening. I would assume it would revert back if they had only used the start for the french one, no? Forgive me if I'm wrong on this, I'm totally guessing on this one.
