Elm Street Collection pushed up two weeks?

I just placed my preorder for the Nightmare on Elm Street Collection DVD set tonight and noticed that Buy.com had changed the release date from 9/21/99 to 9/7/99 (matching the VHS release date). Other sites like Best Buy.com and DVD Flix are also showing that date while some places still have the 21st listed (800.com and this site). Has anyone heard an official statement about the release date change? Do I get to be happy two weeks early?
