James Bond DVD Question

Pondering getting some of the new Bond releases and I was looking at the ones I do have and am curious about how my "Spy Who Loved Me" and "Moonraker" versions having Full Screen AND Widescreen on the same disc (and side). Did the whole series at one time have this feature (both formats on one disc)? Especially curious about OHMSS.

May I assume the picture quality is not as good as the current releases with anamorphic widescreen compared to these older two-in-one discs?

Thanks.

Nighty-
I don't think they had previously put out all the Bonds films. Orginally I wanted the option to watch movies in both formats and purchased Dr. No, TND and TSWLM. But after watching the documentaries for DN , I bought the new version. In terms of quality, the three I owned were fine and in fact, I actually looked up on DVD Basen and read acticles compared the versions, and the same in both Audio and Video quality were used, just more bonus things.

I own all 19 from the original 007 Collection release and they are all in Anamorphic Widescreen only. If they added a Full Screen transfer to these already packed DVD's, I would assume it hurt the picture quality.

The original release of Spy Who Loved Me had P&S on it. This was not the SE later put out by MGM, put on moratorium, and just released again. It came in a Warner snapper and was available for a short period of time before MGM pulled it and decided they wanted to do SEs. Same story for Moonraker. I believe their early Bond title were those two, Goldfinger, From Russia With Love and GoldenEye, the latter also featuring a P&S option that was later dropped in favor of extra features.

When they got around to releasing the other Bond films, the P&S option was completely dropped; so only the initial releases of Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker and GoldenEye feature P&S.

Ah, that clears it up. Thanks. It was just a short release of Moonraker, Spy and Goldeneye. Odd though, because these do have some extras.
