I am a sick, sick man...help!

Damn New Line for offering the Austin Powers box set! I walked into Best Buy today and saw the box set (all three movies are in keepcases now, colored even!) and had to get it. just because. The colors matched, so I had to do it. Does anyone else have this problem? I'll be taking the first two movies for a trade tomorrow, and I know I won't get much for them, but I just had to have the matching set.

EDIT: just for the record, I already have the first 2 movies, and those are the ones I'm taking for trade. Maybe I'll get my Zelda preorder for my GC paid off so I can get the bonus disc...

I hope you remembered to pick up your free copy of Rush Hour or Blade at BB? That was what pushed me over the edge, in addition to the colors!

Is this a Best Buy exclusive???? I don't have one near me, but I'd love to pick this up.

I'm going to Best Buy in a couple hours, and I really hope I don't end up buying that set. But something tells me I will. It happened with Jason X, it happened with Reign of Fire...I have no willpower.

Tell someone under 18 that laserdisc is better because it's "bigger" and sell them to him for the bargain price of $20 each, then by the set and make a little profit. If he asks how to play them tell him to "squeze it in there" and act like he's stupid, he will immeadiately purchase to save ego. It is reccomended you try this in front of his woman.

See this thread for more details.

I found this to be the wierdest offer ever; it was written on the big display they had, but I literally had to search down the aisles to find where Blade was hiding (you'd think they'd have put them out with the main display, as they did when From Dusk Til Dawn was offered free with Jackie Brown/Pulp Fiction).

And they didn't have many copies of Blade when I did find it (almost like they deliberately hadn't stocked up).

Then, the register guy didn't even know about the offer and was surprised when it zeroed out, asking me if if was just Blade you got free, or if any movie was free. You'd think it'd be the customer asking that question!

damn! yeah, I'm taking my receipt back tomorrow and getting my movie! I'll probably trade it in as well, since I have both of them already. No bother, because it's must more trade-in credit for me!

I only had The Spy Who Shagged Me in a snapper and I have Blade and Rush Hour 2 so this deal worked out for me.

I bought the Austin Powers 3-pack, all in keep cases and got the freebie as Rush Hour. So now both my RUsh Hour sets and Austin Powers sets are complete. I even traded in my old copy of shagged for 5 bucks. Thought I'd get a little more, but oh well. Still worth it.

Not a bad deal over all.

OK, I think I can resist the urge to replace my two DVDs just for some new cases.

HOWEVER, I noticed that inetdvd.com has some empty color keepcases for sale. Would one of the proud new owners of the "matched set" mind telling me whether the green case is lime green or neon green, and is the red case regular red or metallic red?

I was anticipating this day for years, so I never bought Austin Powers movies on DVDs. Until now of course. Three cheers for New Line getting the cases right!

I'd like to have the keeper cases, but really don't have much interest in owning Goldmember.. After the opening 15-20 minutes, I just stopped laughing and waited for it to end.

Aside from that, however, I'm right there with you on the sick part.

I've debated (but resisted) selling the season 1 Farscape individual discs to get the season set in smaller form. I was mad about the Space:1999 mega set and thought about "trading" up for the mega set, etc. Luckily I have resisted so far. Once I get a few more Trek original series DVDS, though, I plan on getting the alternate art covers and 5-disc boxes to save space and have a nicer looking set.

I didn't own any of them, so I picked up the box set and a free Rush Hour.
