Tom Clancy SE DVDs in 2003

Finally!!!!!!!!!!

From thedigitalbits.com:

"Also, you fans of Paramount's Tom Clancy film series will be happy to know that Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger and The Hunt for Red October are all in the process of being overhauled as special edition releases for 2003."

For me THFRO is a definite re-purchase and maybe PG as an initial purchase. I hope Clancy participates on any commentaries. I enjoyed his honest assessment on TSOAF. He seems to speak his mind.

This is great news.

I just picked up the 3 pack deal at Costco a week ago for $50. For some reason I never cut open the plastic covering that they seal these things in. I even kept the receipt in my wallet. It’s as though I was getting a sign to leave them alone.

I heard that the video on these could have been better. They're great films and deserve the full treatment. Any news on when in 2003?

If we're just hearing about it now, I wouldn't expect it until next fall.

Oh yeah!!

I knew there was a reason I held off from picking up the currently available editions.

If I've waited this long..I can wait another six months or so..whenever they appear....

Maybe you don't need to get THfRO... sounds like you've seen it too many times already.

One can NEVER see this classic too many times....

Guess I'll just have to replace my Hunt for Red October when the SE comes out. Or maybe not. Most likely I'll just rent it to watch the special features, since I usually only watch those once anyways.

3 more discs for ebay (unless my nephew wants a good deal). I must have all 3 SE's.

I'm upgrading my 3 as well.

Do you think we'll hear a commentary with Harrison Ford for the first time?

I am definetly upgrading mine. Why do I get the feeling that I will be repurchasing all of the DVD's I bought the first two years of its inception.

While Paramount is at it, why don't they give Top Gun and Mission Impossible a little attention.

I second that big time.

It would be very enlightening to listen to a commentary by Harrison Ford. I don’t see it happening though.

I'll want them all. I have Patriot Games on DVD; I didn't get THFRO at all (although I've seen it), and Clear and Present Danger remains on VHS for me. I figured they'd get around to remastering these someday so I stopped my DVD purchases at one title. I'm glad I did!
