DD 5.1 / DTS Logo's

I just got a reciever with DD 5.1 and DTS (I know but better late than never) Anyway I have been going back and watching a lot of my DVD's now that I can experience them a little better. Since I never had a stereo that was capable of DTS before I have never been able to listen to the DTS logo at the begining of movies. Now that I can I was wondering how many different versions of the DTS and DD 5.1 logos there where and which DVDs I could find them on?

Any help would be appreciated

ive only seen one dts logo which is the piano.

theres a boring dolby digital 2.0 surround logo.

and 5.1 i think there is the following

city involving the loud helicopter
the train
the canyons
egypt.

Probably some others

The Dolby Store sells a DVD of DD 5.1//6.1EX/2.0 trailers as you see before movies (canyons, train, egypt, waterfall, and more). I recently got it on a whim and am not so sure it's all that worth it though.

I've only seen two different DTS trailers. The piano one, and another one I'll call the DTS Theater one. I think the DTS Theater one is by far the best of all the sound format trailers. Yu can find it on three discs that I know of. The Mask Of Zorro: SE, What Lies Beneath, and Panic Room: Superbit.

The old DTS logo is the one with the disc and it says Digital Theater or something. Sounds pretty fantastic, but it's pretty old Skool. (it's on all the DTS laser discs)

you mean the CD flying towards you and the words flying over the disc and hearing em soar over the audiecne before landing on the CD and then it explodes

That would be the one.

I'm pretty sure it's on some DVDs as well.

the sound is, of course, amazing, but the graphics are so cheesy

I have it on T2 Ultimate ED. It's also on Evolution. The piano is on pretty much every Universal disc that has dts.
The Dolby canyon trailer is on Universal Soldier. I really miss those cause they were on most LD's and that is one of the things that made watching LD's really like seeing the movie in a theater. It's funny the first time I fired up my brand new Die Hard w/ a Vengance LD I had never seen the Helicopter trailer and the thunderclap at the beginning scared the shit out of me. Another one I miss is the THX trailer that had the red stuff in the background and came flying overhead that was on a lot of LD's. It is on all of the Star Wars Sp Ed. discs along with the Canyon and some Aztec looking trailer.

P.S. I like the bird that flies from left surround to right surround on the Canyon trailer when it kicks in.

I think it's standard on all Superbit DVDs as well.

Peace.....

Y'mean this one, that starts out like this...

Then ends up like this?

THX-Grand is one of my fav's.

Or did you mean Cimmaron?

Starts out like this...

Ends like this...

As far as Dolby Digital trailers go, FilmTech has these in MPEG format for download uner their "Videos" section.

http://www.film-tech.com/

VOB's for These, THX, and DTS can often be found around the web.

DTS Trailers can often be found on their Demo Discs, which I don't see on their web site anymore...but eBay often has a few.

Ebay Search: Demo Discs

Actually myself I love the spinning DVD one! It makes it that much more exciting because that's the one they show at the movie theaters around here. I just love the "BOOM" at the end of that one.

Ahem 2

Only thing is you'd need to be able to burn it to a DVD format I believe.
