Best DTS track of the year.
Okay, so the year is coming to a close, and I guess it's pretty safe to assume that the DVD's coming out won't necessarily have DTS tracks that will blow you out of the water (as it appears from preliminary reviews). However, there were a few DTS tracks from in the year that were so awesome it brought some of us to tears. Which is why I now ask you, what did you think the bes DTS track of the year was?

Minority Report is supposed to have one of the best DTS soundtracks of the year too.

From the list, I was most impressed with Blade II and FOTR. But as a happy owner of all these discs, I can tell you they are certainly all reference quality. Here's my ranking of your picks:
1. Blade II 2. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring:EE 3. The Fast and the Furious 4. Brotherhood of the Wolf: SE 5. Austin Powers in Goldmember ![]()

Am I the only one who really found the Speed: 5 star edition to be great?

Diana Krall: Live in Paris also had a great DTS track.

Yes, I realize that there were many other discs this year with excellent tracks, but I'm just going with the general consensus opinion here (of most reviewers/consumers). So try to keep an open mind here, as I have been with your suggestions. Thank you.

I would have to say that LotR: EE wins narrowly over Blade 2. Although, the others on that list were not slouches by any means.

Hmm.... I guess it's obvious that the general consensus opinion is that the Extended Edition of Fellowship had the best DTS track of the year. There were some other suggestions, so here's what I'm curious to find out: would the poll be different if the suggested titles were included? I mean, it's a good bet that FOTR would still be number one, but how about those that voted for the other films? How many votes would be detracted from there? And would there have been enough votes to dethrone FOTR? And if FOTR wasn't number one, what would have been?
We may never know.... Last edited by Cap42086 : 12-13-2002 at 12:16 AM. |
