Best DTS track of the year.

Okay, so the year is coming to a close, and I guess it's pretty safe to assume that the DVD's coming out won't necessarily have DTS tracks that will blow you out of the water (as it appears from preliminary reviews). However, there were a few DTS tracks from in the year that were so awesome it brought some of us to tears. Which is why I now ask you, what did you think the bes DTS track of the year was?

Minority Report is supposed to have one of the best DTS soundtracks of the year too.

Yes, but it's not the best.

You know, it's a shame that Black Hawk Down SE didn't come out this year. That probably would have made it. Oh, well. Next year probably.

From the list, I was most impressed with Blade II and FOTR. But as a happy owner of all these discs, I can tell you they are certainly all reference quality. Here's my ranking of your picks:

1. Blade II
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring:EE
3. The Fast and the Furious
4. Brotherhood of the Wolf: SE
5. Austin Powers in Goldmember

Am I the only one who really found the Speed: 5 star edition to be great?

No, but was it really as good as the five I mentioned?

Yes, I realize that there were many other discs this year with excellent tracks, but I'm just going with the general consensus opinion here (of most reviewers/consumers). So try to keep an open mind here, as I have been with your suggestions. Thank you.

I would have to say that LotR: EE wins narrowly over Blade 2. Although, the others on that list were not slouches by any means.

Im going to say Metropolis (the anime film).

Not even the LOTR E.V. DTS track can top it!

Maybe if I weren't so stubborn about buying discs blind (only done that twice, wasn't disappointed either time, different story, though) I might check it out. God, I suck so much.

Even I had a tough time choosing between LotR and Blade 2. But I go with you: barely LotR.

Hmm.... I guess it's obvious that the general consensus opinion is that the Extended Edition of Fellowship had the best DTS track of the year. There were some other suggestions, so here's what I'm curious to find out: would the poll be different if the suggested titles were included? I mean, it's a good bet that FOTR would still be number one, but how about those that voted for the other films? How many votes would be detracted from there? And would there have been enough votes to dethrone FOTR? And if FOTR wasn't number one, what would have been?

We may never know....

Can't you rent that DVD instead of buying it blind?

Peace....

From the list I would have to say Blade II, but I' was surprised that Tezuka's Metropolis was left off the list as well. That was a good call Oscar!

See, now I feel like a jackass because I didn't have Metropolis on the list. Well, you live and learn, I guess.

Now that I think about it, maybe I should have voted for Blade II instead. Oh well. FOTR was amazing, as was Blade, so either way you win.
