Indy

Indy this year? Looks to be in October.

http://www.dvdrama.com/news.php?5343

Translated (poorly from google):

Finally! After six long years of waiting since arrived of support DVD, the trilogy Indiana Jones is finally officially announced in DVD. At the time of the festival of Deauville, Paramount revealed part of its planning 2003 (will return we soon there) which contained inter alia the box Indiana Jones. With the instar of the trilogy of the Godfather available since last year, it will be about a world exit in October 2003. Nothing are obviously validated with regard to the content no-claims bonus and technical specifications (Lucas obliges, the discs should however profit from a labellisation THX), but the distributor affirmed us that the adventures of the famous archaeologist will be available only out of box (not disc with the unit). It will be about a box 4 DVD: a disc by film and the last reserved for the no-claims bonus. After the trilogy of the Return towards the future which will leave now in less than one month, and does not announce it of Indiana Jones, it will not remain any more but one trilogy which will continue to poke all covetousnesses: that of the first-second trilogy of the Star Wars.

Cool! I was pretty sure we'd see at least one Indy film in 2003 after the talk of Lucas & Spielberg fighting with Paramount over whether to release one or all 3 movies in 2003.
I hope it's true that they've gone with a boxset!

And that would indeed just leave the Star Wars trilogy to continue to poke all covetousnesses!

Re: Indy

Since we're talking about Spielberg and Lucas here, my prediction is thus: The Indiana Jones Trilogy will be released only when hype has built up enough that people will wait in line for days to buy the $300 3-disc "box set." The box set will be available for six hours, then will never be offered again. Industrial Light and Magic will digitally transform Indy's scary whip into an innocuous cellular phone. The Trilogy will be rereleased with 2 minutes of bonus footage and limited edition scratch-and-sniff stickers six months later.

That would just suck if they do release it this year.

Because if I buy the trilogy what will happen in 2005 when they Indy 4 comes out?

I think I will just wait for the Indy Saga with all 4 movies in a set.

All I have to say is, where can I get a boxed set of the Return Towards the Future movies? That alone was reason enough for this thread to exist.
