How good is the Darkman dvd?
I'm going dvd shopping this afternoon to get XXX and Barbershop but I also wanted to pick up a few catalog titles.
So can anyone tell how got the dvd is of Darkman? I like the movie and I want the dvd but is the current version any good? Is a Special Edition coming down the road? Thanks for the help. Mark |

It probably depends on how picky you are. It is an anamorphic widescreen print. The print is kind of old and muddy looking. It's not bad compared to the previous video and LD editions, but it could really benefit from remastering.
The audio is okay, nothing stellar, but nothing distractingly bad or anything. I think it has the trailer on it, but that would be it. I would love a special edition with Sam Raimi commentary and an isolated score with Danny Elfman Commentary, but there is nothing in the works that I have ever heard of (not even rumours). |

It's fair, certainly better than VHS, and if you can find it, you're a lucky man. I had to join Columbia House to track it down without having to buy "Darkman II" as well (it's apparently not for sale except in a two-pack in most places.)
