All Woman Commentary

I spent a cozy New Years Eve curled up on the couch watching "Sleepless In Seattle" with the wife this year.

I finally replaced my original DVD with the Special Edition of the film and I noticed that this was the first DVD that I owned that only had women doing the commentary.

This can't be the only DVD with just women doing the commentary... anyone know of others?

A bloated and overly self important commentary by Nora Ephron can be heard on the underrated "Lucky Numbers" DVD.

[edit]: Oh yeah, the one female producer (out of 67 male) from "Forrest Gump" took her right to record a sole commentary...

Peeping Tom I believe only has a woman doing the commentary.

One of the commentaries on The Princess Diaries is just Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway. Kathryn Bigelow, the director, is the only person on the Near Dark commentary. Kinda wish more people had joined her.

Unfortuanately to answer the question I'll have to admit to watching this movie.....

Britney's "Crossroads" has an all female commmentary track with the director, producer and writer.

I still wanted the britney commentary, just so I could count how many times she would say ''like".

??????

I was under the impression that Wendy Finerman was THE reason Forrest Gump was made. She was the one that discovered the novel and kept the project alive during years of rejection from studios.

**laughing hysterically at what that commentary might sound like**

"I remember that I got a manicure right before this scene"

"The girl in this scene is a real bitch - but she sure knows how to moan"

"...The most important thing I had to keep telling myself while sitting under that waterfall... I'm not cold!"

he he he

I wasn't that serious. Gump has 4, not 67 producers...

Anyway, Basic Instinct has a commentary with "Feminist Critic Camille Paglia."

Hmm, interesting thread Other then those titles mentioned I can't think of any that I have that just have a female commentary. I'm sure there has to be tons out there though. Near Dark has a GREAT commentary on it, but like someone else said it would be nice if there were other people on it with her!

Yes, she's most British ^_^ The commentary was quite good if I remember correctly. BTW, if anybody hasn't seen the film, do yourself a big favor by doing so ^_~

I can't think of any all female commentarys. I was looking forward to the Oprea/Whoppi commentary on The Colar Purple S.E., but now according to DVDfile their isn't one.

less scary news, Warner has also issued the full press release for the February 18th special edition DVD re-release of Steven Spielberg's acclaimed The Color Purple, which helps clear up some confusion of what will and will not be on the release. This two-disc set features a newly remastered 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen version of the film on disc one, with English and French 5.1 Dolby Digital surround tracks. Surprisingly for a Spielberg title, no DTS option will be included. Disc two features four new documentaries produced by longtime Spielberg collaborator Laurent Bouzereau: "Conversations with Ancestors: The Color Purple from Book to Screen," "A Collaboration of Spirits: Casting and Acting The Color Purple," "Cultivating a Classic: The Making of the Color Purple" and "The Color Purple: The Musical." (The musical!?) Other extras include two teasers, a trailer and filmographies. No commentaries will be included, and retail is $27.95.
