XXX's annoying Security Tag

I bought XXX last night and thought it was so stupid with that new security tag to open up the case, you have to cut it to open the thing up, What is up with that? I ended up somehow ripping mine off with Scissors of course I cut my finger a little bit in the progress but that thing was so annoying. I hope they don't do this to other cases in the future. :rar:

What new security case?

I got mine at Best Buy and I got the regular packaging that most DVD's come in.

Also, I frequently hear about people cutting themselves while trying to open DVD packages. I hope none of you are going to medical school. Be more careful opening packages. Either that or you need to start keeping a little opening tool of some sort with you.

A friend got his copy at Wal Mart with the annoying one referred to. I got mine at CC with the normal packaging. I guess it just depends where you buy it which kind of security packing their batch has.

I got mine at WalMart also and it did have that stupid new security deal where you have to cut it three times in order to access the inside. Apparently WalMart is losing DVDs left and right due to theft. Just last night, some guy was shoplifting at a Walmart here in San Antonio, Texas and when he was getting ready to walk out of the store (along with a DVD player!), he took out a knife and tried to cut one of the employees who approached him about his "purchases". I mean, GOD! DVDs aren't really worth a person's life! By the way, I thought that the "XXX" packaging sucked bigtime..the cover art looks crappy, the insert looks crappy, but the one redeeming value of the whole thing was the movie itself

Walmart Theft

Hey, ElCuCuy2000, I know that guy that almost got cut. They are now searching for the guy that pulled the knife out on him. They got his plate number. I hope they catch that bastard. Anway, I didnt like that new crappy security thing either. Shoplifters are ruining it for everybody and people ask why things are locked up...cmon ppl use your head...ppl dont pay for stuff anymore they just walk out with it.

I bought it at Wal-Mart tonight (because I had to get it $14.99) and every were elese was closed. God, that Security Tag is so damn anoying. It took me atleast 10 mintues to open it. God damn stupid shit. And oh ya it's a wonder that they are lossing alot of disc's...When I walked out the buzzer went off because the dumb guy didn't deactavate it. So I stood there for a few mintues, it kept going off...No one came! So then I went and got it deacttavated. Now we know why they losse so many DVDs.

I haven't gotten one of these new security tags yet but if it's as annoying as it seems to be I have a suggestion. When you purchase the dvd ask the clerk to safely remove it for you as it has now been purchased & you don't want to risk damaging your case. That's what I plan to do. They can remove it just before my store departure, that's fine. Otherwise they can refund my money. I can understand putting security measures on an item to prevent shoplifting but if it is difficult to remove & there is a possibility to damage the product the store should remove it at the point of departure & then if they damage it they can replace it. If they cut themselves as daley92782 did, they can file for workmen's comp.

I don't think that they will remove it for you Bill. You have to have the wrapper removed to take it off. And they will tell you "If the case get's messed up, it's your fault not ours." I hosently don't think that would work but then agian (like I said before)...Who knows??!

Thank God for that

Didn't Walmart use those cases they put the DVDs in, and when you bought them, they would take them off at the register? I know they still use them for CDs, but they had been previously using it for DVDs, but stopped.

Could you guys give us a pic of what these new security tags look like, because I have no idea what you're talking about, nor do I have the desire to buy xXx to find out. ;p The only security thingy I've ever encountered were stickers. Is it similar to the security locks on the Blockbuster cases?

And if I met that shoplifter who threatened my life with a knife while holding onto his copy of Men in Black II, I'd..Id...I'd cut him with my Walmart badge! And when he loses the knife, I'd dump him into those kiddie rides you pay a quarter for! Yeah, that's what I thought! :rar:
