The Fast Runner
The Digital Bits is reporting that The Fast Runner will be released on 2/11/03 by Columbia Tristar.
I am a real sucker for Native Themed movies, and even more so when most of the people working on the project are Native. I am always hopeing for if not an accurate portrayal of Native people at least decent attempt at it. This Inuit gem has it all in spades, and like Smoke Signals and Pow-wow Highway is a great escape from the usual drek that hollywood pinches out, Windtalkers anyone I loved this little film and can not wait to add it to my collection. The disk appears to be nearly bare bones with a trailer, interactive menues, and an Anamorphic 1.85:1 transfer Language. Inuit DD 5.1 with English Subtitles *for those that collect the strange and unusual this is a good one. The retail price is somewhat steep 27.96 Last edited by Istagi : 01-04-2003 at 01:50 PM. |

The disk is expensive because Columbia might sell a hundred thousand of these if they are lucky. Those that know this film will purchase it but it will not get many blind purchases. |

I picked-up the 2-Disc Canadian release today.
This is one AMAZING film!! I've always been meaning to watch this for the past year and a half; since it was all the buzz at the '01 Toronto Internation Film Festival. I walked into Blockbuster looking to rent it but as I walked by the "Previously Enjoyed" shelf, I see it for sale at $9.99 CAD!! So I ended up buying it for $8.99 ($1 off Rewards members discount) - less than the cost of two rentals. I usually don't make blind purchases but at that price, how could I not?
