Star Trek V: The Final Frontier - Midnight at Wal-Mart with a $17.99 price match... what can I say, I'm a trekker (and I thought Matrix Reloaded was highly overrated)...

John Carpenter Collection at Tower Records for $29.99 (surprisingly)!

I also went to Circuit City to pick up Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Special Edition, but they were sold out and apparently they don't give out rainchecks. I mean, the DVD was advertised in their flyer this week! It just irks me that they had to be so rude about it too.

Yesterday I bought The Last House on the Left and The Hills Have Eyes (Special Edition) at Best Buy, which happened to both be blind buys, but they seem like the perfect way to build my classic horror collection. They're also my first Wes Craven DVDs, so now I'm looking into seeing some of his other films.

I've already seen A Nightmare on Elm Street, New Nightmare, Scream, Scream 2 and Music of the Heart, but want to see The Serpent and the Rainbow and to a lesser extent Swamp Thing. And to an even lesser extent, I still want to see Scream 3 sometime soon.

So is MGM going to ever reissue Swamp Thing? I thought they were supposed to just come out with a toned down version that didn't contain shots of the topless Adrienne Barbeau? I guess you can find the original DVD affordably on Ebay, so that's probably worth checking out.
