I just double dipped for the first time ever on Anastasia -- finally picked up the 2-disc Family Fun Edition that I've been meaning to buy since it streeted in March. Despite the worst-ever artwork and redicliously demeaning edition name, this is a terrific set. The new transfer is startling, the pan & scan alternative from the previous disc is gone, and the extras here are great. The commentary is one of the most insightful I have ever heard, and the new making-of doccumentary is full of interesting, rare stuff. Plus, for those of you who don't already have it (I did), the direct-to-video spinoff Bartok the Magnificent is here in its entirety, directed by Blueth, so it is legitimate (rather than a Universal or Disney DTV sequel) and quite good, even if its only relation to Anastasia is the character. You might want to keep the old DVD too, because the vintage making-of from 1997 isn't duplicated here, but still, this is a wonderful DVD.

Also, The Ultimate Superman Collection is still on order from Barnes & Noble.
