Once Upon A Time In America?
Anybody know if this movie is coming to DVD? My last Columbia House DVD magazine had it for pre-order (sometime in January) but I can't find any info about this release anywhere else.

Once Upon a Time In America is one of my favorite films. As long as Warner does the full 227 minute version, I have no complaints about other than to maybe include a trailer and a commentary.

I caved and bought the laserdisc, which ended up being open-matte.
Oh well, at least it's not P&S. I would love for a R1 DVD to come out.

I have a Region 0 DVD from Portugal
I actually have a Region 0 copy of the DVD printed (i think) from Portugal.
It is the 227 minute version. But as you would expect, the film transfer isn't that great, and not that much special features. And oh, it's FULL screen But hey, it's Once Upon a Time in America ![]()

...ahhm... you may have gotten (received? ordered?) that disc from Portugal, but it isn't a Portuguese dcisc, but rather a Brazilian DVD (they speak Portuguese in Brazil, too, you know!) --- or it could be the Greek disc that did the rounds in Europe very briefly - which is a port of the disc from Brazil, but with optional Greek subs added to the English ones... ...I think...

I just found this on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=3313358601 Anyone know where this came from? I would imagine it's this Brazilian disc mentioned above, as it's NTSC. What's up with the Warners SE and is there any updated news on a r1 release? I can't wait much longer for this - it was on Channel Four a few months back in the UK in widescreen, but if it doesn't come to disc soon I'll have to hunt down a LaserDisc edition. Okay, so it's open matte, but blow it up to fill the 16x9 display and there you go - theatrical ratio. BTW, the IMDB lists this as being 139 minutes long (as well as the 227 "director's cut" version. Is there an even longer version of this out there?
