Julian, Ricky and Bubbles are coming to DVD!
The series has been getting a lot of hype lately up here, coinciding with its recent third-season premiere, so I was also wondering when a DVD release of this hilarious Canadian show would eventually show up.
It's out May 27. On Sunday's latest new episode (a hilarious plot involving the kidnapping of a Rush guitarist), there was an ad promoting the release of Trailer Park Boys on DVD. Released in stores on the 27th, the DVD set collects all thirteen episodes from the first two seasons, plus deleted scenes--I don't remember what the other special features were and I haven't looked it up on a Canadian website yet. My uncle, a big fan, was ecstatic and wanted us to pick up a copy of the DVD for him in Calgary. Apparently MTV wanted to buy the rights to the series in the US, but they wanted changes to the show (it has plenty of profanity and sometimes nudity) to tone it down. The producers said no thanks, we like it the way it is up here in the Great White North (or a trailer park in Nova Scotia, if you prefer). If you haven't checked it out, you're missing out on one of the funniest shows featuring the weirdest, incompetent white trash Canadians I've ever seen!

Yes, I also just found out the TPB Seasons 1 & 2 would be coming out on May 27th. I was planning on starting a new thread about it on the 27th but since you unexpectantly bumped my old thread here I won't bother.
That is interesting that the MTV tried to buy the rights, I am glad that the directors didn't sell out. Image quality and what not aside, this dvd will be a must own for anybody who likes to buy tv series on dvd, or even if you don't. Trailer Park Boys is one of, if not the funniest tv series I have ever seen. I can't reccomend it enough. There is quite a bit of swearing in the show but it isn't offending. Most of you Americans probably don't know about this show but if you don't ever watch TPB it would be like never seeing Pulp Fiction or The Godfather. And I don't think I am exagerating when I say that. You can find more info on the dvd from the official site here: Trailer Park Boys Dvd |

Shhh...don't tell anyone else, but I'd like to do all of the TPB fans a favor and point out that Amazon.ca is offering the set for $48.97
Which is significantly less than the $65-70 being offered everywhere else. Add a promotional code and Free Super Saver Shipping to that, and you save a pretty penny! (For the record, I must swear I don't work for them) "Who loves ya baby" ![]() |

I picked up the dvd set at Wal Mart for $49 Cad.
This has to be one of the BEST shows ever!!!(not to mention a great set with excellent extras and easter eggs) "You know what I'm sayin'?" "Let's get drunk and eat chicken fingers."
