I'm hoping that Paramount will actually deliver on this packaging this time. Remember the cool tin sets that were originally previewed for ST:TNG, but later changed to a paperboard-type of package because it would be prohibitively expensive to produce and would add significantly to the retail cost? It's one of the reasons why I decided not to collect TNG (that, and its in syndication on TNN right now). Metal or plastic I'll go for, but not paperboard.

If Paramount follows through, they'll have my hard-earned dollars.

But I think it's fine and the Region 2 TNG design wasn't that great.

Sure, plastic is way cooler than cardboard, but the Region 1 design with the flat back and the color scheme from red to pink through all the rainbow colors looks much better on my shelf.

Besides, some of the R2 TNG casings didn't close properly.
